Le restaurant La Guadalupe a pignon sur rue dans le quartier Centre-Sud de Montréal. Trop souvent oublié, ce quartier recèle des petits trésors tels que ce restaurant mexicain qui saura vous envoûter et vous transporter dans ce pays chaud le temps d'un repas. Reconnu pour ses succulents margaritas maison, la Guadalupe propose un menu simple, réconfortant et typique.
Les habitués de la place ainsi que les nouveaux curieux, peuvent y déguster des mets toujours frais, cuisinés sur place. Entre autres, vous pourrez arrêter votre choix sur la guacamole, les tortillas farcis, les enchilladas, la salade de cactus, et bien plus encore. Les plats sont présentés de manière alléchante et les portions sont plutôt généreuses.
L'ambiance de La Guadalupe saura vous charmer par son authenticité, sa chaleur et sa convivialité. La jolie salle est dotée de belles grandes vitres qui vous donnent le pouls du quartier. Côté décor, rien de très sophistiqué, plutôt un amalgame de beaux éléments fonctionnels qui participent à cette petite impression d'être ici un peu chez soi.

Delicious authentic Mexican food. Margaritas were great. We ordered the enchiladas with mole sauce & it was incredible. Food tasted very fresh & you definitely get more than enough with one portion

Heard good things so decided to check it out. With all the great Mexican that Montreal has to offer, this is definitely NOT worth the detour. The food was ok. Not terrible but definitely forgettable. Quite bland & quite wet, as though the ownership hasn't paid attention to how Mexican food has evolved in recent years. Both appetizers & mains were very mid, generic, cafeteria like slop.
The service was atrocious. It seemed like an effort for any of the staff to even crack a smile. For a restaurant barely half full on a Friday night, an extra effort would be worth it. We ordered cocktails & appetizers & the food came out before we even got our drinks. I ordered a second Margarita & it never came. My complaint to our server got'I don't normally even work the floor so you should be more understanding'. I wasn't too upset as just like the food, the cocktails reminded me of a tourist trap style restaurant anyway, so maybe they did me a favour by forgetting.
To summarize, if you want to experience a slightly worse, Mexican version of Olive Garden, this place is for you!

This place is an experience. Best to make reservations & plan to stay a couple hours. The food highlights for me were the guacamole, margaritas, mango juice, churros, & the selection of Mexican candies & other things for sale. My sister loves the mole sauce & has been back for it a few times, & I do believe it is good, it's just that I'm not a huge fan of the sauce in general. The staff were great & the decor was well done - I felt transported to a festive warm happy place while it was February in Montreal.

Ordered the chicken almendrado, flavours were on point (from a Mexican point of view) & the chicken was perfectly cooked with the meat just sliding off the bones 🤤 The ceviche was nice, the snacks were lovely, great variety of drinks

The food was delicious, absolutely mind blowing authentic real Mexican food from a Mexican family owned business. Loved all the decorations, atmosphere was well & inviting. The service was okay, people greet you & meet you to your table. Service is fast & reliable. Food serving is so amazing & fresh & feels homey. I love the margaritas!! Definitely plan on staying for one or two hours cause you won't want to leave!

Finally some good mexican food in Montreal! Very down home & authentic. Nice portions & they don't skimp on the guacamole! Service however, needs improvement as it was the bare minimum effort.

Authentic Mexican cuisine, huge portions & a killer margarita.
Call ahead ... the place closed at 9 instead of 10pm like advertised online.

Authentic Mexican! Delicious warm large portions. Ambiance is cute with art work & fun music. Homey/warm-feel. Absolutely delicious! A true Mexican gem in Montreal. Best Mexican in town
