Our experience at Gargamelle was magical! We were welcomed by the co owners Loyd & Manu, who both offered exceptional service throughout the evening. The ambiance was cozy & the food was insanely delicious. We definitely recommend the 6 serving option with cocktail pairing - it's such a unique experience! Quick tip - bring an extra sweater, it tends to get a bit cold during the winter (but the rustic stone walls & old-age windows make it all worth it)!View more

Absolutely spectacular dining experience 👌 The tasting menu was just the right size & delighted the eyes & the taste buds. Fresh, quality ingredients & attention to texture & balance made every bite a pleasure. Their unique fat-washed cocktails were top-notch & they have excellent wine selections. The ambiance is cozy & welcoming, as if you're in someone's fancy loft, with a nice view of the Old Port. Perfect for date night! The service was exceptional, & this is quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal.View more

What a cozy hidden gem! Manu & Loyd have a wonderfully intimate restaurant, my partner & I felt transported to some generations-old family restaurant in the european countryside. Working our way through a tasting menu, each course managed to wow us in different ways! All of the dishes were masterfully presented, even before taking any bites we knew we were in for something special. The menu explored various seafood dishes through a myriad of expressions: spiced oysters to refreshing ceviche to rich, buttery crab! Alongside we had pairings of non-alcoholic cocktails, since my partner & I are currently on a sobriety break. This was by no means a compromise on full flavour! Gargamelle was a delightful experience. The room itself is thoughtfully decorated, feeling cozy & welcoming. The drinks kept us searching for the bottoms of the glasses. The food is of course the star of the show, delighting at every turn... To anyone looking for the perfect restaurant for date night in the Old Port, look no further!View more

Our visit to La Gargamelle for the 5-course menu was truly a treat! The food was excellent, & the ambiance was warm & homey, making it a perfect setting for a cozy meal. Our waitress was super nice, & the personal touch of the chef coming out to say hi added to the overall wonderful experience. Highly recommended! ----- Notre visite chez La Gargamelle pour le menu en 5 services a été un vrai régal! La nourriture était excellente, & l'ambiance chaleureuse & conviviale, créant un cadre parfait pour un repas agréable. What a great experience at @gargamellerestaurant last night. You can choose from a 4, 5 or 6 course omakase menu (you can mix & match not everybody has to take the same one which is nice) & you have the option to add the drink pairing which is a combination of their amazing cocktails & private importation of sake & wine. The chef & his partner serve us directly from the open kitchen. This cute & cozy little place in the old port has great charm & awesome vibes.View more
