Reviews describe La Fabrique de Bagel Montréal as a warm, cozy spot with fresh, chewy bagels and a wide range of cream cheeses and toppings that make for satisfying breakfasts and casual lunches. The service is repeatedly praised for friendliness and helpfulness, with staff noted for accommodating language needs and making guests feel welcome. Bagels are frequently called fresh and flavorful, with particular favorites including sesame with salmon, pesto cream cheese, and pumpernickel with figs, though several comments mention inconsistencies in quality and value, including bagels that were dry or overdone and prices that feel high for the portion size. The atmosphere, decor, and coffee are regularly highlighted as bonuses, and many reviewers say they would return, citing quick service, good vibes, and the sense that the place treats guests like regulars even when visiting as tourists. Overall, it comes across as a reliable Montréal bagel destination with strong staff, solid flavors, and a few caveats about price and occasional unevenness.
Good option for vegetarians: Had an egg & avocado sandwich. There were other vegetarian options including sandwiches, bagels, cream cheese, butters, & pastries.
I went today. My friend ordered a coffee & saw the man make it with old oat milk, she did not enjoy it as it had chunks due to the old milk. My coffee was fine. A worker claimed i could not have my water bottle since it was forbidden to have outside drinks. He also got upset when my friend & I used the bathroom at the same time, saying it was also forbidden, even though there was no sign indicating such & it is quite common for friends to use the bathroom together. Overall unpleasant experience. Wont be in a hurry to return
First time trying a Montreal bagel. The staff were very friendly & accommodating to this anglophone. The bagel was delicious! I had an everything toasted with honey nut cream cheese. Yum!
Best bagels I ever had, & that's coming from a NYr. Such crunchy crust, with a soft doughy inside, the cream cheese was perfect too. The staff was also very nice, friendly & inviting. Can't get a bagel like this in SFLA 😟
I recently visited this cafe, & while my experience had its ups & downs, there are some highlights worth mentioning. The coffee is decent but nothing extraordinary. One thing that stood out was the inconsistency with the lattes-mine was overly foamy, more like a cappuccino than a true latte. Given the prices, I was expecting a bit more precision. On the bright side, the bagel sandwiches are fantastic! The BLT was a solid choice, but the real star for me was the salmon cream cheese bagel. It was fresh, flavorful, & definitely worth trying. Overall, while the coffee could use some improvement, the bagel sandwiches alone make it worth a visit. Just be prepared to pay a little more than you'd expect.
