We didn't have food, but I'll give it 5 stars based on the rest of our experience. We are in town for a short time & wanted to stop for a drink. Stumbled upon MALT & couldn't be happier.

Lilly gave us fantastic service & amazingly crafted cocktails. She was attentive, friendly & knowledgeable. The vibe is great, & if you're looking for an intimate cocktail bar- this place is for you.

As I said, we didn't get food (it was late), but the first thing I noticed on the menu was 8 hotdogs for $35. This place knows how to steal my heart. 10/10 would recommend.

Quelle belle découverte sur la rue Ontario Est. L'ambiance est vraiment relaxante, parfaite pour prendre un verre entre amis.

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié de pouvoir jouer à des jeux de société tout en dégustant nos cocktails. Le petit pot de collations servi à table est une attention très appréciée. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Staff was really nice, we went there to watch the Belgium-Spain football match & were allowed to enter before the opening to watch the match. Thanks again !

Malt was a great place to spend an evening enjoying good music & good drinks 🎶. While many people around us were ordering cocktails 🍸, we kept things simple with a pint 🍺 & a glass of red wine 🍷. The atmosphere immediately stood out & made it an easy place to settle in & relax.

The server put the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack on the record player 🎵, which was great fun to listen to while we were chatting 💿.

Malt strikes an excellent balance between a hip venue & a traditional pub 🏮, creating an atmosphere that feels very distinctive.

A great place for classic cocktails, beer, & wine. Bartenders were super nice. They have hot dogs & chips but you can bring in food if you want!

The'roteux' (apparently a local delicacy) were amazing. The beers & cocktails were the best me & my husband have ever had. They even had Booker's bourbon! The staff was the best there as ever been. The last Stanley Cup that was won by the Montreal Canadiens was in'93. I wasn't even born. What are you doing watching lads with sticks fight for a piece of rubber. The devils laughs at you.

The cocktail bar in Montreal that had incredible friendly crowds, great staff & redefined mixology with affordable cocktails as well as pionneered the use of mason jars as serving glasses. You will be missed La Distillerie

Pour de bons cocktail qui goûtent vraiment l'alcool, c'est LA place au centre ville. (Je vous conseille l'espresso Martini) 👌

FAVORITE bar in Montreal, simply because of the superb cocktails & the even better staff. The bartenders are happy to make any drink to order, & everything is extremely affordable. You can also bring your own food in, for free

The Goldfish are addictive, & the cocktails always impeccable. This place specializes in perfectly balanced long drinks, in particular cocktails mixed in Mason jars, such as their perfect classic mojito. We've been coming for years; it's a mandatory visit every time we're in Montreal. In fact, they inspired a major part of our cocktail program at our own cocktail bar (RIP This End Up). I hope La Distillerie lives on forever. Chin chin!!!

08/09/2025 Back for our annual return to La Distillerie - same as ever, still amazing! Enjoying a happy hour Hurricane today. Thanks for being one of our favourite bars ever!
