High Tea Visit- Gorgeous venue, but hardly worth the extremely steep pricing! Expected more & better than the very pretty-looking artistic but miniscule, microscopic offerings. More suited to insect-sized portions than what to feed even to a bird.
Would also have been expected the server to offer, even once throughout, either warming or changing of water for the one tea, one teabag! Or to ask if all was okay or if we wanted anything else!
A bad deal & hardly worth the cost or bother, apart from the elegant surroundings.
We were highly disappointed & left needing the quick fix of bacon cheeseburgers to feel that we had eaten anything.View more
Went for high tea with mother-in-law & sisters in law. Thank you for making this a memorable event. It was perfect in every way.View more
Best high tea experience! Delicious food, beautiful ambiance, & amazing service. I have been here several times & will definitely return. Highly recommend!View more
We had a wonderful tea on Victoria Day. The service was great & they were able to accomodate my food sensitivities. Everything was very delicious. Thank you so much!View more
So this isn't your typical high tea experience. Very different from other Ritz locations & not that traditional. The scones were dry, the pastry just ok, there salty treats were ok too. The setting is cute but it's not intimate enough. I'm a big fan of high tea & I'm not sure this is the IT plave. The service on the other hand was impeccable & the tea choices were great.View more
Just okay. The service was extremely slow: our table was ready 30min after our reservation time & we didn't get our teas until after we had finished all of our food. The pastries were good, as were the scones, but the savory items left much to be desired: very small, very little protein, & all tasted kind of the same. There are MUCH better high tea places in the city.View more
Very beautiful building. The ballroom was very pretty & the piano was very enjoyable. Our server was sweet. Tea was good. Food was bad. Not worth the money.View more
L endroit est beau , le service impeccable mais ce n'est est pas le luxe des autres tea room des Hôtels Ritz dans le monde . L assortiment salé/ sucré moyen .View more
The Ritz-Carlton Tee experience was exceptional! The service was top-notch, the bites were inspired & delicious, the tea was excellent, & the ambiance was elegant & uplifting. Highly recommend!View more
We went here to kick off our honeymoon, & it was a lovely experience for a special occasion. Service was phenomenal & attentive without rushing. The ambiance is also very nice, & everything feels upscale. I loved the scones & all the savory options. Desserts were also pretty good (I'm not as much of a dessert lover so I preferred the sandwiches). The tea cocktails were the highlight- both the chai espresso martini & jasmine mimosa were really unique & delicious. Most afternoon teas where I live are quite pricey so honestly this one was pretty affordable for the experience, I think, but I'm not familiar with local pricing.View more
Such a fun experience! Excellent, fresh treats & a great waitress that recommended their best teas / lattes.View more
I tried many afternoon tea restaurants in Montreal this summer & although the Palm Court is good, it's not the best. The experience was just ok for me however, the service was great.View more
My mom & I had a beautiful experience enjoying our afternoon Tea. The sandwiches were divine, the flavors were inventive, fresh & rich. My favorites were a roast beef sandwich with truffle, which was rich & creamy. & a cucumber & caviar boat. Which was fresh with a touch of creaminess. The pastries were delicious. Including a mousse that tasted like caramel popcorn. It was resting on a delicious & buttery pie dough. The scones were also delicious, & the spreads were on point, specially one with strawberry & rose. I loved their tea selection. Their options were fresh & very tasty. The servers were very kind & attentive. Services was well timed. & everyone explained everything to us very clearly when we mentioned it was our first time. It was a very nice experience! Loved the decor, including the huge painting of Artemis.View more
First of all, this place is dazzling & so fancy! I went there with 3 friends for a bachelorette party & mentioned it in the réservation. Even if there was a small incident that resulted in our table being forgotten, as soon as the waiters realized that we had been waiting for 30 minutes without someone coming over to offer us tea, they apologized & offered each one of us a free drink (value of 18$) & we received a great service thereafter. The snacks are varied, & our friend got a gluten-free version of what we were served (which is available when you mention it in the reservation or by writing directly to the company). There was a wide option of tea, enough for about 5 cups of tea (but with the possibility of asking for more hot water), so we had quite enough to taste each other's chosen tea flavors. There was a also nice gesture for my soon-to-be-wedded friend: they brought her her own plate of food, adorned by a small chocolate with some words written on it for the occasion. During the tea party, one of the staff offered to take a picture for us when she saw us trying to take some, & another staff happily took pictures after we were done when we asked to have them taken somewhere specific. We were then offered to take some more in the small garden, which was breathtakingly beautiful. To get there, we passed by a big reception room that is often used for weddings & we were just so amazed by everything. It was a great experience overall & I would gladly go there again in the future!View more
I always love afternoon the Ritz in Montreal, however, my one complaint this time around is that they spray a VERY strong air freshener in their lobby & since the Palm Court is adjacent to the lobby, the scent becomes part of the tea experience. As someone who is highly sensitive to chemicals, this is extremely unpleasant to have to endure. With the knowledge we have today at how toxic air fresheners are, I cannot understand why hotels are subjecting their patrons to this.View more
What can you say about a place that exceeds your expectation? The tea tasting is amazing. How can I feel full from those tiny sandwiches? It must be magic! Service is above n beyond friendly, courteous n attentive. I went to celebrate my birthday n it was sooo worth it. I read that it was expensive but when you convert to US dollars, it's very reasonable, I'm worth it! It's a joy to be alive & be able to experience it.View more
High tea at the ritz is a fun experience to do at least once. Our server was probably the most enthusiastic server I've ever had. The tea itself was exceptional. The presentation for the sandwiches & desserts was lovely & charming. We were not blown away by the quality of the food, but we very much enjoyed it & found portions generous. The decor itself had an element of old world charm & we were able to linger into the afternoon.View more
Service was good. Tea time was average. Atmosphere was good. Not worth the money.View more
We went for afternoon tea today. Food was great, tea was good & decor & ambiance were amazing. The only disappointing part was the service... it took a while before they came & took our order. Then they waited until we were done sandwiches to bring the tea which I've never seen before. I went to afternoon teas all over Canada & Europe & I've never seen this before. Tea should be served even before the food. They offered a refill of hot water after we had finished all the food & were ready to pay.... Service was slow, I had to ask for them to bring out the tea & it took a while before they came to process our payment. Overall what they offer is great for the price point but they need to work on the service part.View more
Afternoon tea service: Excellent service, attentive & helpful. Nice decor. Scones were very scrumptious. Desserts were delicious especially the creative chocolate one. Finger sandwiches were a bit hit or miss though. The shrimp one was too heavy on the dill for example. Presentation was perfect overall.View more
Le meilleure afternoon tea de Montréal, sans hésitation. Tout est fin, exquis, chic & le service est excellent.View more
View more
View more
Went to for the "tea experience" but can't say it was an "experience." Sandwiches were dry, & only scones were fresh & warm. Noisy & big "deal" with how long the tea should sit before serving but nowhere to place your tea bag when it got dark as coffee 😟. For 3ppl & 250$ later, I think we should have spent it better elsewhere!View more
So much fun & absolutely delicious to enjoy with my adult daughter. Especially because we enjoyed so many tea parties when she was young.View more
Absolutely delightful. We went for. New Year's Eve afternoon tea. The staff, food & experience will stay with me for a long time. We had champagne, tea sandwiches, scrumptious pastries, & very nice tea. The decorations at the Ritz were incredible. It was very special indeed.View more
The high tea experience was decadent & special. Really appreciated the staff's hospitality. Tasty treats that pair well with some comforting tea.View more
Afternoon Tea First off, the waiting staff was courteous. Service was really flawless & I felt very cared for. The greeting was a bit awkward as it was hard to signal someone that I was waiting to be greeted by a host/hostess. Everything was quite delicious. We chose the Jasmin Mimosa, which was a treat. The sandwiches were delicious. Apart for one of them (the one that was not cucumber or cajun chicken). It was oddly dry in texture. The desserts were refined & quite generous in flavor. We left quite stuffed. It might seem a bit steep in price for tea time, but the whole experience was a delight, especially if you are offering yourself an experience for a special occasion. The only downfall for me was the cold/white light leaking through the top floor where a stand was installed. It clashed with the warm lights inside the Palm Court. Again a big thanks for Myriam & Jeffrey (I hope the spelling is accurate, it was a quick glance at their name tags.View more
Love love love!! Three of us went for high-tea & fell in love ❤️. Wonderful food, fabulous teas, amazing service. We're definitely going back!View more
I tried this for afternoon tea & to be honest nothing to write home about & the scones are below basic. The tea selection took 3 tries before I accepted it. Then I was too tired to go out to dinner & tried to eat dinner there. The food selection is very limited. For those lactose intolerant, forget it! everything has a cream sauce, probably bc the chef can't cook. I hence ordered a steak bc how can they screw up a steak? Mind you I stopped eating meat a long time ago! But it was the only option that didn't have a cream sauce & isn't a sandwich. I asked for a medium cooked steak, first one came well done & guess what! the second one came out well done as well. I lost interest & left bc this is ridiculous! The staff however are very nice! But if you don't have good quality food cooked right then please get a new chef! Very disappointing!View more
