La Catrina offers a vibrant dining experience in the Old Port, featuring an array of authentic Mexican dishes and handcrafted cocktails that many visitors find delicious and well-prepared. The tableside guacamole is a frequent highlight, often praised for its freshness, while menu staples such as birria and al pastor tacos are frequently noted for their generous portions and bold flavors. The atmosphere is generally described as lively and fun, particularly on the terrace, with many guests appreciating the welcoming and professional service provided by the staff. While experiences with wait times and noise levels can vary depending on how busy the restaurant is, the majority of visitors feel the overall quality, festive vibe, and attentive care make it a destination worth visiting again.
Last night we went to this restaurant for birthday, reason We picked this place was close to home & we checked the instagram page look like fine dining & fancy but Unfortunately it was very bad experience foods have No taste at all If you are not Mexican at least hire A MEXICAN Chef, my partner is Mexican i have tasted Mexican food outside & inside the Mexico & this was the Worst they don't use any chilis or ingredients make you feel eating Mexican food i wanted to order tuna tartare they had pictures on instagram no exist in menu i think is just for show, menu has no variety, my partner ordered Al pastor taco no taste at all they don't even know they should bring sauce, you ask everywhere they know Mexicans food are famous for sauces, Ceviche was nightmare too much acidity they used artificial lime juice one tip if you are serving sour ceviche you will need to add some sweet like mango to balance it , my partner suffered stomachache all night, I don't how some people review it as good here tbh. & i don't mind pay more to eat delicious unfortunately was pricey & not delicious even in Türkiye they make Mexican food much delicious than this restaurant. Just don't go there by checking instagram is not real is all show I gave 2 star just for staff being nice & atmosphere
Nice little taco place in old port. Small menu with only one veggie option (& it's in a cream sauce). The chips & guac is a table side performance which is why it's so expensive. They have a taco Tues special.

service very bad, we received our appetizer after our main course, it took about 30 minutes before someone came to ask for a drink, another 20min to get our drinks & the drinks was all mixed up. our main plates was all mixed up & Not what we asked, they had to remake our meals...during the meal we ask other drinks that never arrived, very bad experience , very bad service, .....
Came here with my friends to chill & have a great evening, & we were not disappointed. Jesse, our server, was amazing, kind, & funny. He took the time to answer our questions, guide us through the menu & even made us the famous homemade guacamole. We had an amazing evening & will certainly come back!
Imagine a cozy little bistro tucked away on a street corner, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee & sizzling bacon welcomes you like an old friend. This is the kind of place where great conversations are not just encouraged, but practically inevitable. My wife & I had passed by this area several times in the last few weeks & it's always been crowded & there's line up & today was different, & we took a chance to sit down & grab a cold one. The star of the evening is undoubtedly the Tacos Tasting Platter. As you savor each bite, you find yourself drawn into deep discussions about life, love, & everything in between, surrounded by the warm glow of night. In this enchanting culinary haven, every dish serves as a catalyst for connection & camaraderie. We had one of the more deep converstations as we both look back on what year we had in the last 12 months. Being here in Montreal was not on our list to do, nor living in Old Montreal. Much thanks to the staff of this establishment, for they made our night wonderful.
