I have a creates 2 formal complaint regarding an incident at your Carrefour Laval loa formal complaint regarding an incident at your Carrefour Laval location on Friday, April 24, 2026, involving the handling of our group's long-standing reservation & the subsequent interaction with the location's director, Mr. Richard Bourdeau.
Our group of 6-8 people has maintained a standing reservation every Friday at 8:30 PM from October through May for over six years-regardless of how busy the restaurant may be. Throughout that time, we have consistently felt welcomed & well accommodated by your staff, which is why this situation was particularly disappointing.
On April 24, our reservation was not honored, as the table designated for our group had been given to another party. This created unnecessary inconvenience & frustration. I sent an email on Saturday, April 25, outlining my concerns & seeking clarification, as I could not understand how such an oversight occurred.
Following this, I received a call from Mr. Bourdeau on Monday at approximately 11:15 AM. I returned his call with the intention of having a constructive discussion. However, the conversation quickly became one-sided, as I was interrupted early & asked to let him speak first. The tone of the discussion felt more defensive than solution-oriented, with the situation largely attributed to miscommunication.
Mr. Bourdeau emphasized his extensive experience in the restaurant industry & explained the importance of maximizing occupancy during the playoff season. He also stated that he could not allow a table to remain empty for an extended period prior to our 8:30 PM reservation.
While I fully understand the operational pressures during peak periods, this situation could have been easily avoided through standard reservation management practices. As I mentioned during our conversation, the appropriate approach would have been to inform the earlier party (who reportedly arrived around 6:00 PM) that the table was reserved for 8:30 PM & that they would have a defined time limit. This is a common & widely accepted practice that would have prevented the issue entirely.
I also explained that our group has been loyal to this location for over six years, only to be informed less than two hours before our reservation that our table was no longer available. In addition to our weekly visits, I have personally hosted multiple company events at this location, including 5-à-7 gatherings, holiday functions, & end-of-season hockey dinners for groups of 20-25 people.
On a conservative estimate, our regular Friday visits alone represent approximately 35 evenings per season, with an average spend of around $90 plus per person. This equates to nearly $19,000 annually from our hockey group alone-excluding additional corporate events & other visits.
Despite this, the resolution offered by Mr. Bourdeau was limited to a couple of pitchers & wings for a future visit. Given the circumstances & the impact of the situation, this response did not feel proportionate or reflective of the level of service we have experienced over the years.
Unfortunately, both the handling of the reservation & the follow-up discussion did not meet the level of professionalism or customer care we have come to expect. As a result, our group has made the decision to no longer return to this location. This is not a decision we take lightly, considering our long-standing relationship with your establishment.
I would appreciate your review of this matter & any feedback you may have regarding how such situations are expected to be handled at the corporate level. I also hope this feedback can help prevent similar situations for other loyal customers in the future.
NO FOLLOW UP for 2 weeks, apparently due to vacation, only one guy takes on major complaints in the whole company! Its too bad because the servers there are very kind & do an excellent job. Not the same for the upper management unfortunately.
Ordered take out, cost 147$... My burger patty from the mushroom burger was burned & all I could taste from it was the burnt food taste, it was gross. I also took the pepper sauce steak & replaced the fries with a poutine, they gave me 6 pieces of cheese curd & a small cup of sauce. The steak was good but the portion was less than half of the picture in the menu, they also somehow burned the fries, the taste of them was horrible & neither me or my spouse could finish the fries in our meal. My spouse got seafood that was good, but not for the price, her fried cauliflowers were not fried at all everything was soft & undercooked. she also got a chicken wrap, there was 2pieces of chicken in there, really small one & the rest was entirely salad, it looked like someone dumped an entire bag wet salad in there, the wrap was soaked.
Really not worth going back there ever again, I was shocked to see the bill come to 147$ for the smallest portions ever & the worst quality of food I've ever seen, none of us could finish our meal, we felt sick eating it. The only thing they did right in our entire meal was the steak & calamari. They also apologized to us for how long it took them to make our food, I can believe them when they say it was long, they burned everything by overcooking it then probably forgot the cauliflowers & just rushed them, not frying them long enough...
With the cost of living today, it's outrageous that you go out once in the year & it costs you 147$ for something that is not even made properly & not even close to what was advertised. So now I gotta make something else at home too on top of it since it was not enough to feed 2 person decently at that price. Forgot to say it cost 147$ because we were asked by the staff to give a tip on a take out order of 15% minimum. So basically gave them tip to congratulate the cook for not cooking my food properly
Service terrible.

Merci!
Nice place to watch FIFA world cup. My only suggestion is to make sure you extend the game on the full screen. It was split in two, with the hockey game being on the left. There wasn't even a game. They were just filming the locker room for 40 50 minutes with nothing happening, while the FIFA game was on the right. Just extend it on the whole screen. We still had a great time though.
We ordered some drinks & food. Fried calamari was just ordinary. Burgers were delicious.
I wouldn't mind coming back to check another soccer game!
