Kyodai Izakaya offers an authentic Japanese pub vibe with a cozy, lively atmosphere where fresh, flavorful small plates like takoyaki, gyoza, karaage, tataki, ramen and udon are served hot and nicely presented, paired with a varied sake and cocktail menu. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, helping guests feel at home and making meals feel special whether for a casual night out or celebration. The space, decor and music contribute to a welcoming character that many describe as transporting to Japan, while the menu delivers strong favorites and occasional standout dishes such as unagi udon, duck tataki and curry katsu. In short, Kyodai Izakaya is a dependable go-to for tasty Japanese tapas, great drinks and a memorable, convivial dining experience.
it's my first time visiting kyodai. the vibe was amazing & the food was delicious. i need to highlight the service too! our server Jessica was so lovely & patient. she enhanced our experience at the restaurant. thank you Jessica! will come back
One of the nicest & coolest places I've been to. The decor / ambiance is beautiful & the service is very quick & professional. Not to mention how amazing the food tastes. 10/10

J'y retournerai, encore & encore !
Very disappointed. I took the tonkatsu & it was a super thin slice of pork that got overcooked to dryness with thin fluffless breading. It had no flavors & the sauce was probably a commercial tonkatsu sauce or so basic it tasted like it. The slaw was drenched in excessive amount of not great mayo sauce. The service was barely acceptable nothing more. The best thing on the plate was the white rice & even then it was fine, nothing more. So disappointed, won't be back.
Tonight was the 2nd time & the food was delicious, the staff were friendly, & attentive. It was also my sister's birthday & the staff gave her a slice of cake with a candle singing happy birthday. Absolutely 1000% recommend.

Great izakaya place close to the Forum. Went there for a movie night & I enjoyed some takoyaki & had ramen, which were really good. The ambience is awesome, properly themed after Japanese izakaya & playing non-stop city pop & 80/90s anime theme songs. Will definitely go there again.
Great atmosphere, good food & to top it all off cute waitresses. In all seriousness, the price of the alcohol was decent my friend & I shared the Pitcher soju combo, & had the Katsu along with a few appetizers. Everything was tasty & prepared well. No complaints here will be going again soon.

Been there for a birthday, service was great, the staff was friendly! I did feel like I was back in Japan. Food was delicious, nothing bad to say, I will come back. We tried different tapas & cocktails, everything was very tasty.
I was truly impressed by this restaurant-bar! It's great for solo dining & groups & the prices are very reasonable for the portions. I really felt like I was in Japan… the food is that good! ❤? The staff was friendly & always made sure we were comfortable! Ask for their recommendations & you'll be in for a treat!
The place itself is really cozy & a cool vibe. With the many options for good Japanese food in Montreal I would not recommend - food is pretty underwhelming. Could be a fun place to get cocktails.
i had an incredible time with my girl friend!! we dined , had some cocktails (highlight of the night: order the MOUNT FUJI !! the cocktail comes with a show 😊) we really enjoyed their tapas (takoyaki , tempura, etc) & main dishes! the staff was so nice & let us take our time to eat & chill 🤤
Meilleurs restaurants fait au canada, le service est excellent, la décoration nous plonge directement au Japon. Mention spécial pour les takoyaki & les tempura.
