Visitors consistently praise the reasonably priced food, such as the flavorful curry, ramen, and fresh pastries, alongside high-quality matcha, hojicha, and coffee. The atmosphere is frequently described as relaxing and cozy, featuring unique decor like swings and vintage theater seating that creates a playful, home-like environment. This place is such a gem. It was our first time today with my husband & toddler. Was pleasantly surprised by the talented pianist & just loved the cozy vibes. We had curry rice, cold ramen, & onigiri: all delicious. Then we discovered the play area at the back which our son enjoyed playing in.
Unfortunately, husband & I kept our eyes on the floor at the play area, neither of us thought to look up. There was a sign that clearly indicates no shoes allowed in the play area to keep it clean for all the kids. We were so embarrassed & apologized after being discovered walking in with our shoes. Again, so sorry for that!
We would be so delighted to return again. Lovely people, lovely ambience.
WOW! the onigiri were warm & bursting with flavour! The various desserts were creative & well executed! The tea was nutty & unsweetened! There's a place for kids to hangout & play for parents working remote! Staff so lovely! Clearly a big part of an engaged community.
Great Japanese curry & ramen. The staff is very attentive & sweet. Perfect place to bring your little ones to eat as they have a section for them to play.
Love this little Japanese cafe - the best matcha in the city & delicious curry options! Very kid friendly (they have a playroom in the back), love the laidback vibe & staff are super friendly 😊
Incredible food, prices, playlist, service, & we got so comfy on the swings & the theatre seats, soaking up the sun & the plants . It's the little things like the water refill station, the family/kid area in the back, & the positive attitude by the owner that make you realize these are genuine people that care about their community . I will be back !❤?
Warm & cozy café in Verdun serving great, reasonably priced Japanese dishes, snacks, & drinks. The décor is slightly eclectic, with different types of seating, & the architecture lets in plenty of natural light. The café is also kid-friendly, with a dedicated play area. We ordered the Kitsune Udon, Japanese Curry Rice, & Kashiwa Mochi. All the dishes were well-balanced, & although they looked simple & homey, the flavours of each ingredient were highlighted beautifully & intentionally.
Friendly staff, fun atmosophere with play area for kids, plus the best chai latte I tasted at any cafe to date! Can tell its'homemade' & is not a tea bag.
