Great Japanese curry & ramen. The staff is very attentive & sweet. Perfect place to bring your little ones to eat as they have a section for them to play.
Love this little Japanese cafe - the best matcha in the city & delicious curry options! Very kid friendly (they have a playroom in the back), love the laidback vibe & staff are super friendly 😊
Warm & cozy café in Verdun serving great, reasonably priced Japanese dishes, snacks, & drinks. The décor is slightly eclectic, with different types of seating, & the architecture lets in plenty of natural light. The café is also kid-friendly, with a dedicated play area. We ordered the Kitsune Udon, Japanese Curry Rice, & Kashiwa Mochi. All the dishes were well-balanced, & although they looked simple & homey, the flavours of each ingredient were highlighted beautifully & intentionally.

Very cute & cozy neighborhood café specializing in japanese products. They have several matcha & hojicha drinks as well as some japanese meals & pastries.
The inside is very unique, as every chair & tables are different. There's even a table with swings for chairs.
We dropped in for a quick breakfast. Since this is at the opposite end of Wellington from where we live, we seldom get down here. The atmosphere was welcoming, & they have a variety of seating, which looks a little chaotic at first sight. It was a cold morning, so I had a large latte & a large breakfast sandwich. The order arrived promptly & both were delicious. Anyway, we throughly enjoyed our visit & we will be back to try their Japanese dishes.
If you're looking for a homey/cozy café, this is the place. Their japanese style food is homemade & absolutely delicious. The seatings are diverse & creative. There is also a back area for kids with their parents. I strongly recommend.
I had an incredible experience at this Japanese café. The food was absolutely amazing, though the kitsune udon could use a bit more flavor in the broth as it felt a little diluted for my taste. On the other hand, the hiyashichuka was outstanding - a perfect balance of flavors. Both the coffee & matcha were top-notch as well. The owner himself came to check on us, & he was extremely kind & welcoming, which added a personal touch to the visit. I highly recommend this place for its delicious offerings & warm hospitality!
They really nailed the "fait maison" theme perfectly! The food tastes great, the portions not too big, it's perfect for lunch & coffee break! We felt like like we were at a japanese uncle's place with the hommey taste, the mismatched plates & the interesting decors. The service was super quick, overall we had a great time!
I never rate or comment but I can't help it today. In short this place brings me happiness. So much happiness. Everything is adorable from the authentic Japanese cooks, snacks, amazing food, to the homey feelings & occasional live music. Feels like sitting in the living room of good friends & having amazing tea. I hope to continue coming here for a long time. どうもありがとうございます Arigatou gozaimasu 🐰🐰☺️
