Komma Rosta is widely celebrated as a charming, welcoming, and eclectic neighborhood cafe in Verdun that offers an authentic and delicious Japanese menu. Visitors consistently praise the reasonably priced food, such as the flavorful curry, ramen, and fresh pastries, alongside high-quality matcha, hojicha, and coffee. The atmosphere is frequently described as relaxing and cozy, featuring unique decor like swings and vintage theater seating that creates a playful, home-like environment. With an attentive and friendly staff, a dedicated play area for children, and occasional live music, it serves as a highly recommended destination for families, individuals seeking a peaceful place to study, and anyone looking for a friendly community space.
This place is such a gem. It was our first time today with my husband & toddler. Was pleasantly surprised by the talented pianist & just loved the cozy vibes. We had curry rice, cold ramen, & onigiri: all delicious. Then we discovered the play area at the back which our son enjoyed playing in.
Unfortunately, husband & I kept our eyes on the floor at the play area, neither of us thought to look up. There was a sign that clearly indicates no shoes allowed in the play area to keep it clean for all the kids. We were so embarrassed & apologized after being discovered walking in with our shoes. Again, so sorry for that!
We would be so delighted to return again. Lovely people, lovely ambience.
Warm & cozy café in Verdun serving great, reasonably priced Japanese dishes, snacks, & drinks. The décor is slightly eclectic, with different types of seating, & the architecture lets in plenty of natural light. The café is also kid-friendly, with a dedicated play area. We ordered the Kitsune Udon, Japanese Curry Rice, & Kashiwa Mochi. All the dishes were well-balanced, & although they looked simple & homey, the flavours of each ingredient were highlighted beautifully & intentionally.
Very cute & cozy neighborhood café specializing in japanese products. They have several matcha & hojicha drinks as well as some japanese meals & pastries.
The inside is very unique, as every chair & tables are different. There's even a table with swings for chairs.
Café Komma Rosta is a fantastic little spot in Verdun that offers a warm & inviting atmosphere. We tried their udon soup along with one of their onigiri, & both were absolutely delicious. The udon was rich, flavorful, & incredibly comforting-perfect for a very cold day. The onigiri was fresh & well-balanced, making for a great complement to the meal. We also had a coffee, & it was excellent-smooth & well-brewed. The attention to quality really stands out. The ambiance is cozy & relaxed, making it an ideal place to unwind with good food & a great cup of coffee. The staff was friendly & welcoming, which added to the overall great experience. Definitely a place I'd return to!
If you're looking for a homey/cozy café, this is the place. Their japanese style food is homemade & absolutely delicious. The seatings are diverse & creative. There is also a back area for kids with their parents. I strongly recommend.
