Globalement, nous avons été déçus par notre expérience, particulièrement au niveau de la nourriture. Évitez le poulet général Tao, il est fait avec des croquettes de poulet du commerce ( oui oui) & il n'est pas frit. En entrée, les dumplings aux arachides avaient eu le temps de refroidir & la sauce était figée. Le cari au poulet était toutefois très goûteux.
Le service était correct, l'ambiance est agréable

Me & my husband decided to give Koh Tao Bistro Grill Oriental another chance for supper. Our first experience wasn't great, but this time was much better.
We were seated quickly, although it was a bit odd they placed us right next to another couple when the restaurant had plenty of empty tables. Drinks were tasty but on the pricier side.
We ordered the Ultimate Sharing Platter which came with beef flank, grilled chicken strips, tempura shrimps with spicy mayo, Argentine shrimps, sautéed veggies & jasmine rice. Everything was cooked well & portioned enough for two people. The shrimp with the sauce was the highlight, but the meat could have used another dipping option.
The only real miss was that sides were never offered, even though they were supposed to be included.
Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere cozy, & knowing the family story behind Koh Tao makes it even more special. Definitely a better experience than last time.

Je déconseille!!!!! On est arrivé ce soir pour la première fois pour manger & c'était la pire expérience au monde! On a attendu 1h20 pour deux assiettes & il y a 8 personnes qui ont eu leur commandes avant nous mais qui sont arrivé après nous! Incroyable!!!! Après à la facture, surtout pas de rabais offert! On ne reviens plus jamais. A éviter!

Ça me déçois grandement de laisser cet avis, mais malheureusement mon dernier 40$ dépensé au Koh tao était une déception.
Il y a plusieurs années de ça, le koh tao était superbe, un de mes restaurants préféré. La dégradation vient-elle d'un manque de personnel? On dirait que mon repas a été cuisiné par un étudiant qui travaille là les soirs & week-end mais qui n'a aucune réelle expérience en cuisine.
Les légumes étaient brûlés, la sauce était fade, sans saveur (alors que la nourriture thai est généralement riche & rehaussée!) Les vermicelles étaient molasses, le tout pour un donner un pad thai vraiment décevant.
Après plusieurs chances que j'ai laissé qui fût décevantes à chaque fois, je crois malheureusement que cette fois était la dernière.
Je n'aime pas laisser ce genre de review bien honnêtement, mais je regrette amèrement ma dernière dépense.
Il y a peu de chance que mon simple commentaire ait un réel impact sur la qualité de leur cuisine, mais je le souhaite tout de même.
I recently visited twice this restaurant, drawn in by the promise of authentic Thai/Oriental cuisine, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The flavors were off, & it just didn't taste like the Thai food I'm used to. For instance, the Tom Yum soup, which should be bursting with rich, spicy flavors, was served cold, which really detracted from the experience. The padthai was like with spaghetti sauce & the sizzling beef tasted like a beef stroganov. On top of that, the service left a lot to be desired. The server seemed unfamiliar with even basic items like San Pellegrino, which was surprising for a place like this. While the ambiance & the location were pleasant, it's clear that the management needs to pay more attention to these little but important details. The one highlight of the meal was the sweet potato fries & the imperial roll-both were quite enjoyable, but that's not enough to make up for the overall lackluster experience. With some improvements, this place has potential, but as it stands, I left disappointed.
Dumplings vapeur trop cuits & dans bcp trop de sauce. Rouleau de printemps & dumplings frits sans goût. Mes items sont arrivés tièdes. Pas impressionnée du tout.
Le Pat Thai crevettes & poulet était bon légumes al dente crevettes & poulet ont bon goût mais ce Pad thai n'a rien de Thai .La sauce dans laquelle c'est servi s'apparente plus à une sauce commerciale pour côtes levées Les Nouilles étaient déjà trop cuite & on nous sert ça très chaud dans un bol creux alors les Nouilles continuent à cuire dans ce bol creux Sinon , le plat qu'on m'a servi était bon Un the de jasmin & un tapioca pour dessert surmonté du petit gâteau fudge délicieux 27$ tx & service inclus En repas du midi On.pourrait s'attendre à quelque chose de plus authentique côté sauce à Pad Thai
J'ai bien aimé ce que j'ai mangé. C'était le plat du jour. Un plat qu'on mange tiède, laitue, légumes, vermicelles, petites boulettes de poulet style Général Tao, sauce très goûteuse, coriandre & petits rouleaux impériaux
The best General Tao in my life. Let me elaborate...
I had a lot of General Tao in my life, from 20-ish locations (not a very large number, but considerable for me). The reason why this one is significantly better, is because of how the chicken is prepared/cooked.
From what I experienced, I assume it's typical chicken pieces in batter deep fried. But the "nugget" comes out in a very nice ball-ish shape with a smooth surface. It's nicely crisp on the outside & juicy on the inside. Even after a few minutes covered in sauce, it did not lose all of it's crispiness.
About 8-9 pieces are served with your usual steamed vegetables 🥦 🥕 🧅 & a portion of rice 🍚 topped with sesame seeds & cilantro.
The price of 21,50$ is a bit steep, but it's worth it.
