Overall, Knuckles Cantine & Vins comes across as a cozy, lively spot that earns praise for its creative, well balanced dishes, strong wine program, and warm, attentive service. Reviewers highlight standout bites like panzerotti, arctic char eclair, spinach gnocchi, and a range of original takes on classics, noting food is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully plated. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as welcoming and stylish, sometimes bustling and a bit loud, with a decor that feels both retro and chic. Value is often cited as good for the quality, including reasonable lunch options, though a few dishes are described as small or overly sauced and some menu items as not perfectly balanced. The staff are described as friendly and knowledgeable, with helpful wine recommendations and efficient service. In sum, this restaurant is regarded as a standout find with an inventive menu, engaging atmosphere, and dependable hospitality, leaving guests eager to return to try more dishes and explore the wine list.
Everything from food, service to decor was phenomenal, we had such a great time here & each dish was so surprisingly delicious, especially the savory éclair! Can't wait to go back & try the other dishes on the menu :).
Very charming place with a creative menu. For appetisers we had the eclair with arctic char (my personal fav), beef tartare (big mac flavour), panzerotti (smoke meat). The eclair was light & paired nicely with the goat cheese & fish. The beef tartare was unique & something I never had before, but I'd still rather go for a classic tartare. & the panzerotti was overall quite underwhelming because of the lack of filling, & the sides were folded too thick & so some parts of the dough were a bit raw. We also had the spinach gnocchi which was nice & light & the cornbonara which was fun but personally not to my palette. Overall, dishes were executed as described & service was good.
My partner & I visited Montreal/Quebec City for a week & this was by far our favorite meal! I think the kimchi-rita was the best cocktail I've ever had. The server was super nice & made us feel welcome; & they happily helped us in English! We dined on Wednesday so we got their special, where we could try 5 dishes for $40 each. Would definitely recommend the buffalo mushrooms & the spinach gnocchi. The classic panzerotti was also amazing. Everything tasted like it was fresh & made with love :)
Delicious food & a warm, aesthetic vibe! The spinach gnocchi (gnocchi verdi) was a standout, YOU MUST ORDER THIS! The gnocchi was so pillowy soft & the sauce was rich with a bit of crunch on top.
The other dishes we got were tasty too (see pics) but did not linger in my mind afterwards as the spinach pasta did. Smores & Cream dessert was good but large in quantity - I'm a lover of dessert but would recommend to share this.
We had the knuckles (a family recipe of the owner), the steak tartare burger-style & the goat cheese tarte as entrées. We loved everything, but we would particularly recommend the goat cheese dish, it was beyond delicious!
For our mains, we had the gnocchi, which were unreal & the pintade. We shared everything & were too full for dessert, although we really wanted to try the mousse au chocolat.
The portions are on the smaller side, so I would recommend ordering multiple dishes, just as the server suggested. The service was lovely & the atmosphere felt so cozy. Seriously, a 10/10 experience!
2nd time here, this round involved getting the Shared Tasting Menu. The food was nice but contrary to our first visit back in 2023, we found most dishes to contain a little too much sauce or creams. The ingredients served are so fresh/local & lovely on their own that I feel their natural flavors would be best elevated with more subtle seasonings/herbs/fruit/etc that could better balance the experience of each dish

Exceptional! What a wonderful little gem of a place. From the moment you walk in, the staff was incredibly welcoming & professional. The menu is explained in detail & patience. We tried a few different dishes, all made with precise balance, smart plating & rich flavours. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
You must check out this restaurant if your in Montreal! It's fantastic! We ordered the Kale Salad, Bic Mac Tartare, which were delicious, but star dish went to the Spinach gnocchi, it was unreal...probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had! The service was ok, the staff only spoke to us in French which was a bit annoying.... but the owner passed by & was super nice & explained the dishes & spoke in English, French & Italian. Great great place to eat some delicious food with a nice vibe cute & cozy!

Delicious meal in a charming neighbourhood in Montreal. We loved the vibe & ambiance of the restaurant. We sat at the bar & our server was very friendly & talked us through the menu & dishes. We ordered a number of dishes including: the Memphis barbecorn, carbonara, pizza pockets, fried fish with Big Mac hollandaise, tomato & mozzarella salad, fish eclair, & chocolate mousse. We loved how fun & flavourful all the dishes, with a refined spin on some classics like the filet-o-fish. The fish dish & pizza pockets were definitely the highlights of our meal. The Memphis barbecorn was super flavourful as well; we loved all the corn components but found the pork belly a bit too fatty (even for pork belly). The pasta in the carbonara was cooked perfectly al dente & the flavour was excellent. The unique wines were also a highly & I loved the red wine our serve had recommended. Overall a great dining experience!
Awesome 1st experience at this charming bistro in the "Jarry Village" - all of the dishes were well prepared & original combinations. Very tasty overall. The homemade focaccia that came with the garlic roasted periwinkles (bourgot) was outstanding. Special last night was freshly made spinach gnocchi with grandma's special sauce - yum! We likely the strawberry shortcake so much we had it twice - Groundhog Day dessert - our waited did not seem surprised at all, guess this happens often. Great selection of reasonable prices wines with a focus on bio/organic - let the waiter guide you, they know their wines here. Overall a wonderful dinner experience, followed by a stroll around Jarry park which is a few blocks over to digest. We will be back for sure - very, very recommended.
Very cozy & inviting atmosphere. The owner was charming & entertaining. The waitstaff were exceptional & very attentive. Excellent food & creative dishes.

Knuckles is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. It is hands down the best food, most unpretentious vibes, & most passionate team who truly care about where they source their food & ingredients from. Time & time again, I tell everyone to eat here & they LOVE it. If you love eating from many dishes, sharing, & trying amazing wines, go to knuckles!
Pleurotes au buffalo: frieds oyster mushrooms that had a mildly crispy & chewy texture, the buffalo powder was generous & had a pretty intense & salty flavor. The bluecheese dip was not stinky at all & was almost able to balance out the buffalo. Tartaréclaire: the eclair itself was soft, not chewy or soggy from the toppings. the raw fish used was very tender & not stinky at all, it was delicious. Each element of the dish enhanced the unit as a whole. The caviar provided a smokey & salty touch, the thin croutons added crispy texture & the creamh goat cheese & dill was just perfect. Loved it. Knuckles: basically a fancy pizza pocket that had a very nice dough to filling ratio. The dough itself was essentially soft but had a mild crunch on the outside since it was fried. One thing that I would have preferred is to have pepperoni in the filling. To me, it was the missing element that could've made the dish more special. Carbonara: straight forward, ordinary dish, but they used peccorino instead of pancetta or bacon. I'd say it was almost perfect, but personally I prefer my pasta more cooked than al dente. Porchetta: slices of raw pork that were not stinky served with marinated ingredients & a salty green mayo. It was very good & honestly taste excactlt like a all dressed vietnamese banh mi, but without bread. Kale salad: this salad was a good surprise. Although it may seem simple, the blend of textures (crunchy but soft kale, crunchy potato shavings) with a simple but good dressing made it super good. It may look underwhelming but do not underestimate it. We were lucky enough to get a table for 2 last-minute by just showing up at the restaurant but I highly recommend to come here & try their small menu, of course after making a reservation. It's pretty pricey (170$/2 people/6 dishes) but I don't really have anything bad to say about the food.
very cute place! the decor was cute & the service was phenomenal!! our waiter was super nice & gave us details on all the appetizers & main dishes. everyone there was really sweet & welcoming & the food was fresh & super good! one of my new fav date spots in montreal for sure!
