Overall, KhanJee Restaurant earns high marks for authentic South Asian flavors, with mutton and chicken biryani described as rich and fragrant, Shinwari and Charsi karahi as tender and deeply spiced, and the BBQ as juicy and smoky. Butter chicken, nihari, and kebabs are praised for bold, comforting flavors, generous portions, and fresh accompaniments like naan and salads. KhanJee is seen as a standout for Pakistani cuisine in Montreal, offering a flavorful, lively dining experience that feels like home.
We had the Chicken Peshawri Karahi. It was very salty but the taste was great. Their green salad was extremely small for the price. It was perfect for 2 people. Would like to try something else from them but alot less salt.
Worst restaurant ever. I ordered chicken biryani & chicken karahi, & both had very old, stale chicken. The taste was terrible & completely disappointing. NOT RECOMMENDED at all. Don't waste your time or money.
Ate here after a long gap & it was surprisingly wonderful, the peshawari karahi was simply delicious with those beautifully done naans & daal maash was on point, fantastic flavours. Keep it simple with just naan n karahi or a daal addition & it'll be great. Recommended
I had a very disappointing experience at KhanJee. I ordered chicken Karahi, & it was not properly cooked at all. On top of that, the chicken had a very bad smell, like it was old & not fresh.
When I raised the issue, the waitress called the owner, but instead of handling the situation professionally, he was extremely rude. He refused to accept that there was anything wrong with the food & simply dismissed my complaint, saying everything was fine, then walked away.
This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional & unacceptable. Serving questionable food & then refusing to take responsibility is not okay. I would not recommend this place at all.
I have been so lucky to have found this restaurant for catering. I have been using them for Eid lunches at work for the past few times. & every time was an amazing experience. They always recommend a new dish & it's always a hit. Whether chicken Karahis, meat dishes (achari ghosht) or rice (Biryani or any sort of pulao). The quality, cleanliness & taste of every dish is mouth watering.I have to thank the management of this restaurant because the delivery was on time, & they added a dish on them without charge. The delivery accidentally mixed up one of the dishes, the management not only made sure we got the actual dish on time but also gave the Biryani without charge. Lahori butt karahi, charcoal chicken. Pulao, chickpeas dish quality of naan everything was delicious. The clinic was in awe of the food. The food could have catered to 40+ people.

I ordered food from here couple of times before it was hit & miss, this last time i ordered here for pickup it was pathetic experience . There was whole big chicken pieces in karahi some had even skin on it. Its like chef threw chicken in ready-made sauce & boiled it. That was not even the bad part untill i opened the Naan.they were literally burnt i mean they could see it while packing the food that its burnt & still decided to give it to a customer shows how they treat customers. Had to throw away the naans & most of the Karahi it self. Awful experience
bunch of times . Not recommending to any one again!
I came here with my friends & it was my first time I tried Pakistani food & I ordered beef behari boti & mutton karahi & the big khandhari naan I love the food I will definitely came back
?If you're searching for truly authentic Peshawari & Pakistani cuisine, look no further. This restaurant isn't just serving food; it's delivering a masterpiece of traditional flavor, & the culinary genius behind it is none other than Chef Ali.
?The stars of the show are undeniably the Karahis. Prepared in the traditional style, the Charsi Karahi is rich & deeply flavorful, while the Shinwari Karahi is a testament to perfect simplicity, letting the quality of the ingredients shine through. Chef Ali's expertise is evident in every bite-the meat is tender, the spices are perfectly balanced, & the authenticity is simply unmatched.
?But the excellence doesn't stop there. The BBQ items are phenomenal. Every piece is grilled to perfection, smokey & juicy. The Beef Bihari is a tender, savory standout, & the Lamb Chops are absolute proof that simplicity done right is unbeatable. They are undoubtedly among the top items on the menu.
?After indulging in such a meat-heavy feast, the perfect ending is the chai. It's more than just tea; it's an amazing, comforting digestif-a creamy, warm hug that is potent enough to settle your stomach & officially induce the promised food coma.
?From the unforgettable karahis to the perfectly charred meats & the essential post-meal chai, this restaurant offers a complete, soul-satisfying dining experience. Five stars!
