I have visited this @karahipoint in @montreal today on my way to US. The food was definitely the best but other than that the atmosphere, ambience, decor & above all the hospitality of the servers were amazing. The over all dining experience at a new place with fingers crossed were worth a review. Couldn't took pictures of the food because I completely forgot after taking the first bite of everything we ordered. Nihari was top notch, biryani was very tasty, channay reminds me of of Pakistani street naan channay, & chicken karahi was also very delectable. Same naans & garlic naans were hot served & tasty.
Must try this restaurant if you happen to pass through Montreal.
Please don't order paneer tikka & chicken tikka as both have the same tomato gravy with soft panner not tikka panner also gravy is a lot tangy & naan is not with butter.
Daal & paneer butter masala would be better option.
It's just off the main road with ample parking & easy access for wheelchair. Curb appeal at front of the entrance looks very run down & not very appealing in line with the area itself . Once inside it's doesn't change much . Staff seemed very friendly & menu is large . We ordered lamb palak with two naan breads. Within 5 mos the food arrived . Huge portion of lamb palak was ore than enough for us both.
Nan was fresh from the tandoori but obviously the lamb palak was precooked & heated up . The lamb was very chewy & tough so not really worth it. Usually this type of tough meat is due to the animal being old which makes it tough to cook & usually not tasty . I would rather have a safer portion but tasty & soft enough younger lamb which is chewable & edible without difficulty. Overall not a good first tie experience at all .
We loved the chicken karahi & garlic Naan, also the chicken BBQ platter was good but I don't find the flavor that bold but overall it was good with the amazing green chutney & raita.
Everything was really good. Alishba took care of us & she was super nice the whole time, always checking up to make sure we were good. We got the Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Sesame Naan, Palak Gosht, Lamb Biryani & Gulab Jamun. No joke, every single thing was good. The naan was fresh, the chicken tikka masala had a lot of flavor, & the lamb was really tender. The biryani was probably one of my favorites. Even the dessert was amazing.
Definitely worth trying. Good portions, good service, & nice atmosphere but no music. I'll for sure be coming back.
Had the beef nihari with naan. Excellent dish. The beef was extremely tender, the spice level perfect (medium) & the curry was very flavorsome. The naan is soft & fluffy. Served with a small salad on the side.
The chicken karahi had fish taste...totally unacceptable.
Beef seekh kababs were ok & naan not so bad either.
The fact that chicken karahi had fish taste & smell left bad taste.
This was the 3rd time & the last time.
I remember last time the Tikka Biryani was very nice but i dont know what was wrong yesterday only green chutney/sauce was nice. We tried samosa chaat, papri chat, bihari boti, tikka biryani, signature krahi, fish pakora, & qeema. Only Fish Pakora was good in taste but was not crispy wasnt tried well.
Bihari boti was broken. It was becoming qeema on a touch. It was tasteless. Tikka in Biryani was looking made of rotten chicken. We complained for it & the waitress didnt bother to say sorry once. She was arguing that its good. Signature Karahi taste was very normal. Qeema was also normal taste. Naans were very bad maybe they were frozen naans. I wonder why a cook doesnt know how to make a naan.
I had an amazing experience at this desi restaurant. The flavors were authentic & reminded me of proper homemade South Asian cooking. The butter chicken was rich & creamy with just the right balance of spices, & the biryani was fragrant, flavorful, & perfectly cooked. You can tell they don't cut corners with ingredients.
The naan came out fresh, soft, & slightly crispy on the edges - easily one of the best I've had. Portions were generous, & everything tasted fresh, not reheated.
Service was also on point - staff were friendly, attentive, & made sure everything was perfect. The atmosphere had a nice vibe too, clean & welcoming.
Definitely one of the better desi spots I've tried. I'll 100% be coming back.
Food wasn't tasty at all
No spices at all not even a salt i think
Environment was good, service was good
But curry taste didn't meet the standards
Naans were like so hard
I don't even know that they were even fresh made or frozen
Literally wasted our dinner & money.
Will never recommend
