Review Summary

Kanepicerie draws praise for authentic West African flavors, generous portions and reasonable prices, with notes of well-seasoned lamb and goat dishes served with rice and plantain, and beignets that are delicious and inexpensive, and solid takeout and delivery in some reviews. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and convivial, though there is no seating, and service experiences vary, with one account calling for more attentiveness and better communication when orders are ready. While many diners highlight friendly staff and helpful guidance through the menu, a few reviews point to inconsistent service. A negative point appears with the grilled chicken described as dry and under-seasoned, suggesting room for improvement in seasoning and quality. Overall, the restaurant is depicted as a solid option to explore African cuisine, offering good value and flavorful dishes with some variation in service and dining environment.

goat with rice & plantain is a perfectly sized meal with flavourful, tender meat - would recommend!

Saw on google review is very extreme two side so that's why I'm here. But the food is really suprise me! I get chicken leg with rice & fried banana. Chicken leg is crispy outside but juicy inside! The girl who bring me food is kind & friendly.

From my experience, when you find a takeout place in a small market like this, it's usually super authentic & this was no exception. I went for the lamb plate. For the price it was decent value, could have been a couple more chunks of meat but wouldn't call the meat portion stingy either. The meat was very nicely seasoned & well-textured. Went very nice with the plantain & the rice. I tried the beignets too which are delicious & pretty cheap at 50 cents each. A little bit of salad would have completed the plate I feel. There is no seating here so no points for atmosphere. Service didn't really win me over either. I was waiting outside as the food was being made. I figured the girl would let me know once the food was ready. But instead she just left it on the counter & started using her phone until I came in to check on my own. It probably wasn't long but the polite thing to have done would have been to notify me. Other than that she was not particularly rude, just lacked care in her service.
