This has quickly become one of my favorite places in Montreal! Unique food you don't always find here, & the service from the two ladies is hearty: makes you feel like home!
I particularly enjoy the pelmeni & the medovik cake: the dessert slices are quite large for the price!
This is the food that makes you weep from happiness! Extremely well balanced flavors, made with love & care. Honestly, when eating there, even alone, you'll get the sensation of dining with your entire family - all this dill, the cream, the kompot. Delicious. The place is run by two amazing women & I truly wish them all the best, because they managed to transport me to my childhood :)
Lovely & unique cuisines that are rare in Montreal! The meat dishes are well seasoned & we had a pleasant time discovering this special place!
So glad I found this restaurant! A bit hard to reach, but it so worth it. The 2 owners are so cute & happy to explain each dish. The food is simply amazing & reminded me of my grandmother. Will comeback for sure !
Delicious authentic dishes cooked by two wonderful women, I especially loved the samsa!
Extremely friendly people who make you feel at home with their attitude & food.
Amazing place. It will make you nostalgic of your babushka & Eastern European live.. even if you come from a completely different country 🤣
What a hidden gem! This place serves amazing homestyle slavic foods that taste the love from a grandma. Everything was super fresh & yummy! The small place has a takeout counter & 3 small tables. The place is run by 2 lovely ladies. Great hospitality!
The borscht soup definitely warms the soul on cold winter days. It has a good depth & fresh taste. The soup is packed with veggies with little bit of meat & beans. It was delicious! & the bread that comes with it was so good! A small garlic bread with a hint of sweetness. It has a sweet caramelized crust. I could eat that all day! The owner explained to me that they are baked freshly every morning in a limited amount to be served with the soup.
The other highlight was the honey cake. Moist, dense but it doesn't feel heavy at all. Little tangy with a beautiful taste of caramelized honey. They use local honey to make their cake. Heaven!
Can't wait to go back & to try more from their menu!
I was looking for something to eat Sunday afternoon & decided to try Kalabok. Amazing food & very friendly staff! ?t's amazing to finally have Uzbek/ Tajik food in Montreal which is not only delicious but also very affordable & available. I had Plov & Somsa, & there are several other items on the menu to try, including Ukrainian dishes.
I will definitely be going back whenever I am in the area!
Rahmati kalon!
