One word. Exquisite. Everything was so delicously out of this world. The cashier is superrrr nice. I've never tried this cuisine before & if you haven't either … WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! The place is super nice & clean. Everything is so fresh & clean. I bought 3 samsa for like 13$. One with feta & spinach, another with ground beef & the third one with ricotta but it is sweet. It's so crunchy. I'll be coming back for sure.
J'y reviendrai souvent :)
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Montreal for the East European food. The two ladies are very kind & welcoming. Highly recommended.
Awesome food. I came in on a rainy day & the kindly woman who runs it even gave me a free tea to warm me up from the cold rain!
I really enjoyed discovering this place. The beef plov was delicious-the meat was tender, flavorful, & paired perfectly with the rice. The complimentary tea was also a nice touch.
The owners were very friendly & welcoming. We had a pleasant conversation about the cuisine & its origins. They explained that the menu is mainly inspired by Central Asian traditions, with influences from countries such as Uzbekistan & Tajikistan. It made the experience feel much more personal.
The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes & quality. On my next visit, I'd like to try the samsa, pelmeni, & mant?, as they all looked excellent in the display.
If you enjoy discovering authentic homemade food from this region, Kalabak is definitely worth a visit.
Ordered one large Pelmeni, one Kampot, & two Adjikas through Uber Eats. It was absolutely delicious! Special thanks to the staff who kindly accommodated my special request! Cannot recommend enough!
