Some places are so good I want to gatekeep them so I'll always get a table but I just can't do that to Junjun.
Everything is incredible - the food is edible artistry, I particularly loved the scallop crudo which somehow tastes like oysters (???), Ray the co-owner is a blast to hang out with & he genuinely loves the craft of restauranteuring, & I love how intimate yet energetic it always feels.
It's the kind of place that I'm shocked the Michelin guide missed covering. Filipino food made into high end magic. Thank you Ray for making our date night so special 💗
There was 6 of us & we had the tasting menu. I have no words. Im still tasting everything in my head over & over again. Every single bite burst with so much flavour. It was the best orgasm in my mouth. Ray, one of the owners was so attentive & made every table welcome. He has the best personality. That's what Filipinos do. Make sure you walked away happy & full. He absolutely succeeded.
What they did with the dessert. The blend of different flavours into one piece of artwork on a plate. The BEST!!! Even when I was bursting out of my pants full of dinner, I shoved that dessert down. I couldn't leave it behind.
Im coming back to Montreal just for this restaurant because the weather wasn't anything to write home to.

Honestly, I can't think of a more special or delicious restaurant in Montreal right now. My husband & I went for dinner &, from start to finish, it felt like we had been transported out of the city & into a true culinary journey. The service was impeccable-warm, attentive, & genuinely passionate. One of the owners, Ray, took the time to walk us through each dish, sharing the story behind its creation & the inspiration behind it. It made the whole experience even more memorable. We will definitely be back. You won't regret going!
One of the best restaurant experiences Montreal has to offer for sure!!! Such great menu options & they really think outside the box by not just limiting themselves to traditional Philipino dishes!! I had the pleasure of dining at their sister restaurant, Junior, & have been wanting to try Junjun for some time now. I must say, the experience was incredible & truly unforgettable! Junjun exceeded all my expectations. The service was exceptional, with friendly & attentive staff. Our waitress, Margarita, was fantastic, & Manager Ray was a wonderful host, bringing both humor & warmth to the evening. He enriched our experience by sharing the story behind Junjun & its journey, adding a unique & personal touch to our visit. As a Filipino growing up in a Filipino household & enjoying traditional Filipino dishes daily, I was truly amazed by how this restaurant has elevated & modernized the cuisine. Each dish on the tasting menu showcased unique & distinct flavors, & every plate was a visual masterpiece. I'm already eagerly anticipating my next visit, especially for the unforgettable Octopus Kare Kare-it's a dish that has left a lasting impression. Maraming Salamat! Proud Filipino I highly recommend Junjun & will definitely be returning for another remarkable experience!

We had an epic dinner at Junjun that blew us away! Expectations were sky-high, & Junjun absolutely nailed it. The place was buzzing, but despite booking bar seats, we got hooked up with a table-major props for that. Ray, the manager, was a total rockstar, making sure everything was on point with his phenomenal service. Super friendly, always smiling, & he gave us remarkable menu & drink tips. Let's talk food-Scallops Crudo? Super tasty. That Cabbage? Spicy & packed with flavor! The Duck Adobo was a flavor bomb, & the Longanisa? Straight-up amazing. But the showstopper? The Octopus Kare-Kare. This dish is next-level, hands down the best octopus I've ever had. The vibes were on fire with great music, & the rest of the crew was just as awesome-friendly, attentive, & keeping the energy high. Junjun, you nailed it. Can't wait to come back! Highly recommend it!!
