Jolee offers an authentic and flavorful Sri Lankan dining experience that many patrons appreciate for its generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. Visitors frequently praise the friendly, accommodating staff and the wide variety of menu options, ranging from spicy curries to vegetarian specialties like the thali and dosa. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant is a popular choice for both quick meals and large event catering, consistently delivering fresh, hot, and delicious food that captures the essence of Jaffna Tamil cuisine.
Curry take out is bad. They put a lot of that oily spicy sauce to give the illusion of rich curry but the actual meat portion is only worth 3$. I mean only a few chicken or mutton bits. Will never buy again. Very disappointing.
Sharing feedback on my recent visit to Restaurant Lolee. While the menu looked promising, the food lacked freshness & the flavors were underwhelming. Service was slow & inattentive, & the prices felt high for the quality delivered. I tried chicken 65, it was so bad, never had such bad taste, also paneer masala was testing like a bad verson of dal. I guess today was last time.
very tasty, & not too salty, we were served fast, good quantity, happy with the meal. I'm used to punjabi cuisine so I did not know what to expect, & i loved the Masala dosa, my husband liked very much his thali. We will definetely come back . We are usually served by owner himself, who is a kind person. Only thing they should put some music for better atmosphere. Thank you : )
My family & I have been coming here for years. We recently ordered kozhukattais for an event, & they exceeded our expectations. They were neatly made, delicious, & clearly prepared with care. Definitely worth it & highly recommend.
When reviewing places, my intention is never to hurt a business's feelings. But when a person comes to a restaurant in hunger, don't do it for the money. Give quality food with reasonable price. My family of 6 came to this restaurant yesterday in hunger from a drive from Toronto. We had high expectations after seeing some of the reviews & have came here many times before. Food was on point back then. But now, the food tastes like something that had no seasoning yet left a weird aftertaste. We were very disappointed after that meal especially after reading the receipt. In the future, I will make sure that we do not come here. Don't play with the hungry for money. If anyone is looking for good, hot, fresh meals, please consider twice before coming here.
Absolutely ridiculous & disappointing. My family & I came all the way from Toronto & decided to come to this restaurant. All of us were hungry to have dinner that we mistakenly ordered 2 kotthu rotis, 2 appitizers (chilli chicken & chicken 65), & chicken noodles along with chicken puttu. As soon as we all had one bite from the appetizers, we knew we made a huge mistake. Right then & there we lost our appetite. For the chilli chicken, all the did was put hot sauce all over, & the chicken 65 was entirely bone. The kothu rotis, noddles, & puttu did not have any taste whatsoever. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
I am Sri Lankan, so I know the true cuisine & authenticity of Sri Lankan food. This restaurant started off pretty good,I used to be a regular here. However, over time, the quality has gone downhill. The side dishes at the entrance are often cold & lacking flavor. Dining in was an alright experience overall, but not what it used to be.
If you come here, I would recommend sticking to the vegetarian options. The famous chicken & mutton kottu often have a burnt taste, almost as if they are constantly reheated on the grill, & they lack the rich flavor you would expect. I would also suggest avoiding the Indian dishes like butter chicken, biryani, or similar items, as they are disappointing as well.
Sri Lankan food is known for its unique spices & the authenticity in every bite, which is why this experience was quite disappointing for me
The very generous owners & chefs at Jolee donated a huge platter of samosas to our school teacher appreciation day. The samosas smelled so good & all the teachers raved about how delicious they were. Thank you so much for being such a great community business & for your kindness.
