The unpretentious decor & the smell of cooking triggered a nostalgic feeling, reminding me of my grandma's kitchen. The waitstaff exhibited flawless hôtelier etiquette & were knowledgeable about the menu & wine list. The waitress suggested a few dishes to share, thoughtfully separated into three courses. The dishes were straightforwardly presented without any fancy-pancy plating style, this simplicity allowed the quality & flavors of the dishes to shine through. The waitress also suggested a bottle of red with soft tannins & a smooth finish, not overpowering the delicate flavors of the food. For my wife's special occasion, she was treated to two complimentary desserts & a large fresh potato. Thanks to Maurane, we had a wonderful evening.Voir plus
Wow. Lives up to the hype.

It was my first dining experience at Jue Beef in Montreal, & I couldn't have asked for a better introduction. The moment I walked in, I was struck by the vibrant atmosphere & the welcoming vibe of the place. I decided to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a fantastic choice.
started off with the tuna tartare, which was nothing short of exquisite. The freshness of the tuna combined with the delicate seasoning made each bite a delight. It was beautifully presented, & I couldn't help but admire the artistry of the dish.
For my drink, I ordered a cocktail that perfectly complemented my meal. It was refreshing & balanced, making it a great pairing with the flavors of the tuna.
Then came the pièce de résistance: the lobster spaghetti. Wow! The pasta was cooked to perfection, & the generous chunks of lobster added a luxurious touch. The sauce was rich & flavorful, enveloping each strand of spaghetti in a way that made it hard to resist.
I felt incredibly lucky to snag a seat at the bar since I hadn't made a reservation. Usually, you need to book ahead to get a table, but I guess fortune was on my side that day. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive & friendly, always ready with recommendations & ensuring my experience was top-notch.
Overall, my first meal at Jue Beef was amazing. I left with a full belly & a big smile, already planning my next visit!Voir plus

The team at Joe Beef is, as a whole, completely unmatched. They are a non pretentious, group of fast, efficient, & knowledgeable professionals. Our waitress, is a master of her craft. She was patient, funny, & so deeply accommodating, it made my 18yo son's first fine dining experience one that neither he nor I will ever forget. He was not pressured or intimidated at any point as the Joe Beef team warmly walked him through their amazing menu. We were treated to a "Choose Your Own Adventure" selection of menu offerings made once again by our lovely waitress. I know, I know everyone wants to know about the food. Words don't do it justice. Every item that touched our table was quickly devoured &/or shared with the lovely couple next to us. We enjoyed a selection of Scallops, 3 types of North Atlantic Oysters, as a starter. Our 2nd course consisted of Beef Bone Marrow, Escargot, Foie Gras & a simple but delicious homemade Ham with Brie & pickled plums. We ordered the shared 40oz Porterhouse, with potatoes au gratin, & a Waldorf salad. Each course was paired with our Waitress's suggested wine pour, & they elevated each dish accordingly. I wanted to give a special shout to the Expo staff at Joe Beef. She made sure EVERY single dish was perfectly plated, properly timed, delivered to each table without missing ANYTHING the entire night. It's always a pleasure to observe a true professional in their element. (Bonus - the restaurant was FILLED with an amazing groups which only added to the intoxicating atmosphere). If you're ever lucky enough to have an opportunity to dine at Joe Beef, make it a top priority. Returning with my wife & daughter are at the top of my list!Voir plus

Amazing food & service! It was an absolute pleasure with our server Jon. He walked us through the menu & options for food & drink. He was unbelievably on point with every suggestion!Voir plus
Very good food, but overpriced. Like with any restaurant or tourist attraction once it becomes famousm they capitalize. I don't blame them! The food is very good, but you're paying a lot more for an equivalent meal you can get somewhere else. Won't go back, but happy I went once! From a local.Voir plus
Went without expectations, left with a new favorite place in MTL. Starting with the ambiance, the place has this effortless coziness to it. We ordered the tuna tartare & baked ham entrance, both were delicious. For main we ordered rabbit a la royale & foie de veau, wow… texture, flavor, Temperature..just exquisite. Last but not least the cherry on top was the service, every single server was kind, specially Thalia at the bar, single handedly made one of our best night in the city. If you have a chance to visit the place don't miss it. & order the caramel pudding for dessert.
Belle experience. Je reviendrai sans aucun doutes.Voir plus
This is a great restaurant that focuses on quality! I ordered some oysters, lobster spaghetti, & a steak with roasted potatoes & bone marrow, which was really good.Voir plus
What is with all the "Guide" reviews? All give Joe Beef 5 stars...regular reviews are often much lower...what is going on here?Voir plus
My spouse & I had Joe Beef on our bucket list for quite some time, & we finally decided to make it the setting for our recent date night. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly & attentive staff, immediately setting a positive tone for the evening. It was clear that attention to detail is a priority here; despite not mentioning any food allergies when booking our reservation online, the waiter took the time to confirm that we had no allergies or aversions before we ordered. This small gesture really showed the care they put into their service. We began our meal with the beef tartare, & I can confidently say it was one of the freshest preparations we've ever had. The quality of the ingredients was evident from the start. The beef had clearly been freshly ground, & our server delightfully mixed all the components right at the table, elevating the experience. For our mains, my spouse opted for the Cornish hen, while I went for the leg of lamb. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection with flavors that truly stood out. The Cornish hen was tender & juicy, while the leg of lamb melted in my mouth with its rich, savory notes. We also ordered a side of French fries, which were perfectly crisp & golden, & a side of sourdough bread, which was a must for soaking up all the sumptuous sauce from our main dishes. The ambiance was just as impressive as the food. Unlike many fine dining establishments, which can sometimes feel overly formal or cold, the atmosphere here was warm & inviting. The décor, lighting, & music created a cozy yet sophisticated setting that made our evening feel special. It's an ideal spot for a date night or for sharing a memorable meal with friends or clients. One thing to note is that the menu isn't available online, but there is a wide variety of options to choose from once you're there, ranging from seafood to poultry & steaks. There's truly something to suit everyone's tastes. Overall, we were thoroughly impressed with both the quality of the food & the exceptional service. Joe Beef exceeded our expectations & delivered a dining experience we won't soon forget. Highly recommended!Voir plus
We had a great time & the food was excellent & the perfect quantity. Our server Julian ( think that was his name) helped us through the menu & was very knowledgeable. I recommend 100%Voir plus
Overrated… I don't know where to start. First, the vibe there is kind of cool. The interior looks old fashion with very old mirrors, old wall papers & lamps. The waiters are amazing & super friendly. The food on the other end was disappointing. It started well with an amazing butternut squash souping with truffles. This was just perfect. We also had the white ham, which was fine but not great. I had a lot of better hams than that in Europe. Then, we shared the steak with potatoes & the marrow bone. This was actually very disappointing. The quantity was great for two, but the taste was just OK. The marrow was actually served with horseradish & herbs, which kills the taste according to me. The steak was undercooked. We ordered medium but it was actually medium-rare & kind of cold when served. The potatoes were just OK. Overall for a dish that costs 130$, I found it relatively average & overpriced. I did not come for fancy nor cozy, but still, it felt like my grandma food overpriced. Last but not least, this place is noisy as hell. Sometimes impossible to have a conversation… I had my experience, after leaving in Montreal for years, but I don't expect to go back. There are better places than that. Tourist trap in my opinion.Voir plus
I had been looking forward to trying Joe Beef for years, & the experience far surpassed my expectations. Every bite of food, every sip of drink was fantastic. The staff are extremely knowledgeable & make you feel like you're dining with friends. Worth every penny. Get yourself in there!Voir plus
Joe Beef is a Montreal institution located in the Little Burgundy neighborhood near the Lachine Canal. Atmosphere is lively & packed & dishes are decadent & indulgent. Would highly recommend seafood & steak dishes including: oysters, lobster spaghetti, burgundy escargot, steak & ice cream profiteroles. Reservations are strongly recommended. Would budget approximately $250 for party of two.Voir plus
