Review Summary

JOA is widely praised for its authentic, flavorful Korean cuisine, particularly the fried chicken, jjajangmyeon, and tteokbokki. The restaurant offers a welcoming and cozy atmosphere, characterized by its kind, friendly service and the thoughtful gesture of serving complimentary tea. Although the space is small and simple, patrons consistently appreciate the generous portions, reasonable pricing, and the overall quality of the dishes. While a few visitors found the ambiance or specific dishes less impressive, the general consensus highlights the establishment as a must-visit spot for anyone seeking delicious, comforting food in a friendly neighborhood setting.

Takeout-focused Korean kitchen with solid Korean-Chinese dishes.

Not bad at all. For a place that looked like it was falling apart from the outside, the food was authentic & nicely seasoned. Classic mom-&-pop spot that doesn't bother catering to local palates & just goes straight for the real thing.

My friend & I got the black bean noodles (jjajang), the spicy beef noodles (jjam bbong), & a fried chicken cupbap, & everything was satisfying. No weird sweetness, no MSG bomb, just straight wok-fired cooking with natural umami doing the work.

My favorite was the beef jjam bbong. It ran a little spicy even for me, but it was one of the best versions I've had in a while. A lot of the brisket versions I've had in the US come loaded with beef fat in the broth, but this one was mostly clean spice & vegetables.

For a spot we picked at random, this was a nice hit. Would come back next time we're in the area.

The best jjamppong I've had since I was in Seoul! Highly recommend, but don't take my word for it, take a look at my bowl!

This is a great family owned restaurant. The lady at the cash was lovely. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures but we had their fried chicken & jjam bbong, which were very good.

Ordered jja jang, jjam ppong, & sweet & sour chicken. Everything was amazing, but JJAM PONG WAS TO DIE FOR.
