We had a really lovely brunch at Cafe Janine with the family. The seating area was comfortable & the atmosphere felt warm & relaxed, which made it easy to enjoy our time together.
The food was delicious & clearly well prepared, & the staff were kind & attentive throughout our visit.
Overall, it was a great experience & we'd definitely recommend it.

Excellent endroit pour bruncher. Service très attentionné, assiette abondante, délicieux café. Les patates en purée sont vraiment succulentes & font changement de toutes les déclinaisons de patates déjeuner congelées! Fèves au lard goûteuses, bacon épais 😋 cretons réussis, jambon effiloché très tendre, pain goûteux... Ça vaut vraiment la peine de faire la queue dehors.
We went for brunch with friends since my partner found out that Janine & Régine have the same menu.
The food quality is consistent between the 2 places, & we were all happy with what we ordered. The was a bit of a wait, but as crazy as Régine Café on Beaubien. We did not have to line up since our friends got there before us & they got a table.
The service is excellent even though the restaurant was full. The food tasted great with an on point temperature. I totally enjoyed my grilled cheese with the scotch egg - a must try house specialty!
We will definitely go back as there are many items we would like to try.
I've always wanted to try Janine Café because everyone raves about it, & now I understand why. The food is really good, the portions are huge, & the staff is incredibly friendly. The café itself is so pretty & cozy. I'd definitely come back to try other plates! Ps go either super early or after 1:30 to avoid the long line.
What a wonderful cozy intimate & gorgeous brunch cafe in Verdun! Our friends group decided to meet there & we were super impressed with the cozy decor of the cafe ❤?❤? I had the Toast Avocat while my friends had Chic Croissant & Champi along with coffee & let me tell you - from the way the food was presented to the taste everything was just perfect 😇😇 So so delicious & our full compliments to the chef 🙏🙏 The staff is also very gracious, welcoming, & always ready to answer any questions ! We would like to give a shout out to Janique as she was very attentive & always on her feet 🙏🙏 At some point we were also given fruit punch/ fruit shots made of ginger, beet, orange & it was very very good 😇😇 However, anyone who comes here must must try their Carrot Cake! We got ours to go as we were running out of time but we definitely opened the box & once I actually ate it at home, each bite was a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? A heavenly bliss !! Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu 🎉🎉Cannot recommend this 11/10 brunch cafe enough to anyone who wants to relax with family & friends & get the best service & food at the venue 😇😇

Notre serveur était attentionné & gentil. L'assiette déjeuner avec jambon effiloché était moins goûteuse que l'assiette de déjeuner avec champignons. Le café au lait était délicieux. Le décor était jolie & même le petit pot de sucre était trop mignon.
Janine Café is absolutely amazing! The service is outstanding - warm, attentive, & truly welcoming. The food is just as impressive: the mushrooms were incredibly flavorful, the toast was soft & fluffy with the perfect texture, & the roasted chicken was tender, juicy, & packed with taste. Everything came together to make a wonderful brunch experience. I'll definitely be coming back here on my next visit - without a doubt, this is the number one brunch spot in Montreal!
Mais que dire, ce restaurant a été notre perle rare découvert cet été à Verdun, le service est impeccable, le repas est excellent, les jus & le café mokaccino sont délicieux & la brioche à la cannelle un incontournable. Bref tout dépassait mes attentes. J'y retournerai assurément.

New coffee lover here but trained for years. I stayed in MTL for 2 months & tried many café. I almost always get Flat White to test the coffee without too much milk. This is a brunch place I first time for my bday breakfast & second time with girl-brunch.
Vibe: Fantastic elegant place for breakfast. A must go place if you visit MTL, I was lucky to live in Verdun to be able to get seats early in the morning. Wifi is well. Family friendly so much especially during wknds. Prob not a good idea to work there especially wknds too. The Wednesday I went was pretty available.
Coffee & food: Coffee is quite normal, standard. It's very strong but not burnt. Not too creamy & chocolatey.
Service: Amazing. Everyone works hard & knows what they are doing. They are very friendly & peaceful at the same time.
Leur sucre à la crème était incroyable! Nos assiettes étaient délicieuses. Notre serveuse a vraiment été transparente quant aux réponses à nos questions (le café à la tasse ou dans un bol est la même quantité de café; il est mieux de prendre un pain doré au lieu de 2 si on ne veut pas en ramener à la maison). Pour vrai, juste pour cela, je trouve que le prix est justifié & ce genre d'interventions fidélisera la clientèle.
service impeccable mais trop cher & pas à la hauteur, café fade, un dé à coudre de jus d'orange en entrée ridicule, 5$ pour un croissant confiture abusé, un total croissant plus plat plus mini coupe de fruit à 57$ après taxes & tip.
I don't understand the hype. With high expectations & after a 20-minute wait, the food is disappointing (& overpriced). It's very ordinary & lacks harmony in its flavours…
& I had the worst coffee (a cappuccino) I can get from a cafe, worst than the free coffee from my workplace…

Super beau service, un café au décor sublime & que dire des plats qui était tellement délicieux. Définitivement, une place à retourner. Le seul hic, sa popularité nous impose à avoir une patience à toute épreuve afin d'attendre pour entrer.
Pour le brunch, la nourriture a été excellente & le service aussi. Je recommende. Si vous prenez un café de spécialité, le café filtre est inclus aussi donc ça vaut la peine. Le cappuccino était bon
I'd never heard of Café Janine before but I could see myself becoming a regular. The food was outstanding, the service is impeccable & the ambience was a pleasant kind of elevated conviviality; a relaxed refinement that tied everything together.
The lineup is no joke for a weekend brunch, so come prepared to wait outside for 30 minutes or more. Out party really appreciated the complementary servings of tea & small nibbles served by staff along the wait line. It's a small, classy bit of gratitude that made the wait much more tolerable.
Once we were inside, we immediately relaxed & were treated very well by the friendly, professional staff. Service was quick & helpful, with good suggestions when we requested tnem.
Every morsel was delicious, & we especially liked the juice tastings: fresh & delicious samples of various juices arranged in a way that makes it easy to share. The chicken sandwich was excellent with a generous serving & good seasonings. The Scotch eggs were perfect, with a great balance of flavours & textures. We tried the carrot cake as a treat, & it was wonderfully moist & light, with great bounce.
I expected a higher bill at the end, & I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, it's good value for an excellent dining experience. A must-try!
