Dans l'ensemble, les avis présentent Janine Café-Brunch comme un endroit chaleureux et élégant, offrant des portions généreuses et des plats savoureux. La convivialité et l'efficacité du personnel sont souvent soulignées et l'ambiance cosy est appréciée. Les attentes se heurtent parfois aux files d'attente durant le week-end, mais la qualité des plats et le soin du service font que cela en vaut la peine. La carte propose des options variées et créatives, des latkes et Champi, l'oeuf écossais, le croque madame revisité, et les desserts comme le carrot cake reçoivent des éloges, avec des cafés et jus bien notés.
I have a few comments about the food, but I
Would firstly like to comment on the EXCEPTIONAL service & atmosphere. We went early on a Sunday, around 10am, so we fortunately didn't have to wait to be seated! I really appreciated that they had ample staff to accommodate the high volume of clientele. Once we were seated we were given a shot glass of the juice of the day (Basil, mango orange juice) which was delicious. Our server Janique was cheery & helpful, she was attentive & we never had to waive her down. It was an absolute pleasure to be served by her, & the manager (a young man), was very present on the floor lending additional support to his servers, & had also cleared our table at one a point, & was very kind.
The food came moments after we ordered which was great. We ordered the Boeuf & Oeuf, which said on the menu that it came with smashed potatoes & an English muffin (it was an eggs Benedict dish). I suppose there was maybe an issue with translation from French to English on the menu regarding potatoes, but smashed potatoes are different than mashed potatoes, & the dish came with MASHED potatoes. The English muffin was served ON TOP of the mashed potatoes, topped with the poached egg & pulled beef. I found it strange, that instead of the English muffin being sliced, it was two whole English muffin buns 🤔 I don't know if it was ever toasted, but it was soggy, & being on top of mashed potatoes, I found it a really interesting combination, of mushy textures & nothing to break it up. I expected crispy SMASHED potatoes.
The other item we ordered was the fried chicken sandwich, it was ok, the chicken was a little over cooked, & I had a hard time detecting the harissa in the mayo.
The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully, has a great ambiance & feels very well maintained & clean. I was very impressed by the service & the restaurant itself, less by the food. Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen!
Best brunch we've had in forever! Everything was so delicious & the staff were so friendly & attentive. Very kid friendly, they brought out cookies the kids could decorate with icing & sprinkles, crayons & they gave the kids a little toy surprise out of a treasure chest at the end of the meal. So magical & fun! We will be back!

We had a really lovely brunch at Cafe Janine with the family. The seating area was comfortable & the atmosphere felt warm & relaxed, which made it easy to enjoy our time together.
The food was delicious & clearly well prepared, & the staff were kind & attentive throughout our visit.
Overall, it was a great experience & we'd definitely recommend it.

Chic croissant - I have never had pulled ham & it was sooooo tasty & soft - everything was fresh with exquisite flavors!
Gros jambon - the texture of the ham was smooth & buttery
Ouef & bouef - the sauce was fantastic & caramelized onions were delicious
What a wonderful cozy intimate & gorgeous brunch cafe in Verdun! Our friends group decided to meet there & we were super impressed with the cozy decor of the cafe ❤?❤? I had the Toast Avocat while my friends had Chic Croissant & Champi along with coffee & let me tell you - from the way the food was presented to the taste everything was just perfect 😇😇 So so delicious & our full compliments to the chef 🙏🙏 The staff is also very gracious, welcoming, & always ready to answer any questions ! We would like to give a shout out to Janique as she was very attentive & always on her feet 🙏🙏 At some point we were also given fruit punch/ fruit shots made of ginger, beet, orange & it was very very good 😇😇 However, anyone who comes here must must try their Carrot Cake! We got ours to go as we were running out of time but we definitely opened the box & once I actually ate it at home, each bite was a gourmet's delight ❤?❤? A heavenly bliss !! Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu 🎉🎉Cannot recommend this 11/10 brunch cafe enough to anyone who wants to relax with family & friends & get the best service & food at the venue 😇😇

Janine Café is absolutely amazing! The service is outstanding - warm, attentive, & truly welcoming. The food is just as impressive: the mushrooms were incredibly flavorful, the toast was soft & fluffy with the perfect texture, & the roasted chicken was tender, juicy, & packed with taste. Everything came together to make a wonderful brunch experience. I'll definitely be coming back here on my next visit - without a doubt, this is the number one brunch spot in Montreal!

I had an incredible time at Bruinch Place! The food was absolutely delicious - every dish was cooked to perfection with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The menu had a fantastic variety, from classic favorites to creative twists that truly stood out. The coffee was rich & flavorful, & the cocktails were expertly crafted.
The atmosphere was warm & inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax & enjoy a leisurely brunch. The staff were friendly, attentive, & went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
If you're looking for the best brunch in town, Bruinch Place is the place to go. I can't wait to come back & try more dishes!
The decor is beautiful & authentic, with a refined, upscale feel.
The host was not welcoming. We asked for a cozy table, but he insisted it was reserved for parties of four. He seated us next to a cold window instead. The preferred table, along with several other four-person tables, stayed empty for a long time before couples were eventually seated there. It was clear the tables had not been reserved, which left a poor impression.
The atmosphere was very noisy. A touch of light, soothing music could have improved the experience.
The waitress was knowledgeable & attentive.
Prices are on the higher end, which is expected for this type of restaurant.
The food was good but disappointing. Flavors were not well balanced & did not come together as expected.
Janine's is definitely not like any cookie-cutter chain breakfast place that you might be used to. Dishes are very original, generous & flavorful. Service was excellent & attentive (we dined as a group on a weekday). The restaurant itself is eclectic in both decor & food & I highly recommend the experience.

If you are looking for a quality place to brunch in Montreal, this is it. It was worth the 30 minute wait time in the line outside. The staff was attentive & brought guests who were waiting in line hot tea. The food was excellent. I did not dislike any of the items we ordered. It was all freshly made. The only negative was that the restaurant was so full sometimes it took our waitress a bit of time to get back to us for mimosa refills & food orders. Out of the 4 brunch spots I tried, this was my favorite.
The best decor, the best food, & the best service! Hands down my favourite cafe in Montreal so far. Staff is so welcoming & attentive. You must try the gruau, The presentation of the food.. Superb!
Cannot say enough about this restaurant. The waiter was fantastic very attentive patient. The food was outstanding the duck sausage the ham bacon like a true professional had cooked it. That I like the lot.!!! At first I thought the price was a little steep but after the meal that I had it was right on par with what I received. Bravo continued success to you, Mark & Diana
There are so many reasons this café is so loved. The variety, originality & quality of their food offerings are exceptional. The service is attentive, warm & well paced. The atmosphere is always convivial, low key, comfortable. The best café au lait! We enjoyed the Zucchini Loaf with Poached Eggs & the Waffles with Fried Chicken. Portions are generous. Price point is accurate. Note: even on a Monday this spot is busy; no lineups or waiting but busy nonetheless. So, we went for 10:00, no reservations, & were seated immediately.

One of the best brunch I have ever had, we ordered a bunch of dishes, they were all really good. The best of all is their carrot cake, it is a must try dessert from them. It is moist, not too sweet & just right! One of the best carrot cake I have ever had! If you are from NYC area or Queens area, I am sure you probably had Martha's carrot cakes there, this carrot cake would blow Martha's carrot cake away hands down. Besides that, all of the dishes we have ordered were unique, tasty, & flavorful! Service was impeccable, attentive & informative. If I went in describing all of the dishes, I would probably write a novel about it. LOL. Enough said, enjoy the pictures. We will be back one of these days!
One of the best brunch places in Montreal!! The food was delicious, the restaurant is beautiful & the staff were very attentive. Would come back anytime! They also have great gluten free options for those who are allergic & the staff treated the allergy seriously (they toast the gluten free bread in a separate toaster, warned about potential gluten items, etc).
This place is worth the hype & the wait. The service was attentive & friendly, & the food was incredible. We went right before opening & still had a short wait so expect a line at all times.
Wow! I firstly want to say the staff is absolutely amazing. They were so attentive & alert. The food is also great! Very interesting menu that has been curated. Absolutely loved what I had & would definitely come back to try more!
Do yourself a favor & have brunch here! Anything we tried was amazingly delicious! We were greeted with cocktail of the day & a very attentive waitress. Pastries were delicious & baked in-house. Beautiful setting & great atmosphere as well. I will definitely go back to this place next time I am in Montreal
