Jacopo stands out in Old Montreal with a warm, stylish vibe and a menu that delivers Italian classics with bold, fresh flavors. Reviews highlight friendly, attentive service and knowledgeable wine suggestions, and the atmosphere ranges from cozy intimate dining upstairs to lively terrace evenings. The food is repeatedly praised for quality and flavor, from crisp bruschetta, burrata and calamari to seafood pastas, gnocchi and the signature cheese wheel pasta prepared at tableside, along with desserts like tiramisu and cannolis. The wine list and cocktails pair well with many dishes, helping meals feel special for a date, a celebration, or a group dinner. While some guests note that portions can be small or prices a bit high and a few service hiccups or noisy moments, the consensus is that Jacopo offers a memorable experience with generous hospitality and superb Italian cooking that keeps guests coming back.
We just had brunch here, kind of… My partner & I are visiting Montreal & were excited to go out for brunch. The space was lovely & the staff were friendly, but I never got my meal. I ordered the eggs Benedict with hard poached eggs. The server brought us our meals & assured me the eggs should be cooked to my liking with a hard yolk. I am not one to complain or send food back ever, but I cut into the eggs & the yolks were so runny I couldn't eat them. The server apologized & had the kitchen remake them, which I appreciated. In the time they were being remade, my partner finished his entire meal & our table was cleared. They finally brought my meal back out & the eggs were somehow runnier than they were the first time. At this point I just asked to cancel my order. They brought us the bill & charged us for everything (minus my meal, which I never got), including the second coffee my partner ordered, thinking he'd have to sit there while I ate my food. I could tell the food was good as my partner enjoyed his meal & I had some of his potatoes while I waited, but I am beyond appalled at the seemingly incompetence of the kitchen, & the fact that nothing was done or offered to rectify the situation. We were courteous & just paid our bill & left, but we definitely won't be back.
Magnifique!!!! Best meal I've ever had. Order the linguine pescatore. It is perfection.
We arrived on time & had a large party seated near us. They were obnoxious & loud. We were moved upstairs & enjoyed the rest of our meal not having to shout to each other. All of the food & the wine- absolutely delicious & worth every penny. It will not disappoint!

We had super tasty food & delicious wine. Our waiter Ludo Ludovic was absolutely fantastic-warm, kind, attentive & funny. This is a great place to grab a bite when strolling the beautiful streets of Old Montreal.
Food is not bad, but nothing special. Everything else a about the restaurant is great though. Having brunch like main options at 12h is a little weird though.
The food was delicious, however we would not return. At the end there was a bit of a language barrier regarding the tip. The individual in our group who had paid for everyone had thought it was included when they looked at the receipt. The waitress was standing over our friend & asking him why he isn't tipping & if he had an issue with the service. After some back & forth it was determined that there was miscommunication however this interaction with the waitress left us with a poor impression. Our friend did end up tipping. It was rude & you can tell she was frustrated. I wish I looked at the reviews before going here because it seems that this has occurred before. Regardless of this experience there were other restaurants in the area that were great & had waitresses with kind service to tourists visiting.

We had a great experience at Jacopo in Old Montreal! We had a reservation for later in the evening but tried walking in a bit earlier around 7:30pm on a Sunday - they weren't accepting walk-ins at that time, so we were lucky to have booked ahead. Definitely recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, just in case.
The ambience was wonderful - the heated patio is beautifully lit, the main floor has a cozy, darker vibe, & the upper level feels more open & spacious. It's a surprisingly large restaurant, & despite the buzz, the music wasn't too loud, which made it easy to chat & enjoy conversation.
Our server was super friendly & spoke English, which made everything smooth. The mushroom gnocchi was delicious - perfect texture, great flavour, & just the right amount of sauce. They also have a nice selection of wines, & our food came out in about 15-20 minutes.
We noticed a few birthday celebrations happening, & it's clear Jacopo is great for groups or special occasions, with large tables available.
Overall, the food was excellent, prices were fair (around $15-20 for appetizers & $25-35 for mains), & the setting makes it a perfect spot for a date night, dinner with friends, or a family outing. Highly recommend!
Our first time at Jacopo was 10/10 - our 33rd wedding anniversary! Our food & drinks (especially my Negroni) were delicious. Dugan, Isa & Juliana could not have done a better job! We are very appreciative & grateful for a lovely evening - We will definitely return!
