Afficher toutchicken(130) poulet(68) fried(35) fried chicken(33) burger(32) sauce(25) robyn(23) fries(22) tender(21)The dinner had a very vintage look to it which was very nostalgic. We got a large poutine & still felt like the portion was a bit small but it was still good. Would recommend the chicken wings with the honey & garlic sauce it was very tasty.Voir plus
If you crave fried chicken, this is the spot. They have the best fried chicken in town, & if you're adventurous, the spicy version hits the spot, even single time. The multiple sauce chimoices is great (I always rake the hot honey & the Flame (it's not too spicy, so you can try it). The service is always very very pleasant & polite & kind. Try it. The owner John is always there to provide amazing service all around, & the pink neons offers a cool cozy yet cyberpunk-esque vibe... pure awesome spot!
The mark is 4 stars due to the frozen fries & below average non homemade gravy. This Verdun cute 50's style décor fried chicken restaurant, once a Dunkin Doughnuts location, has quickly made itself a good reputation in the Verdun neighbourhood. FOOD: Chicken: I tried the two piece chicken box that included a delicious highly seasoned thick gravy, a generous portion of the « Mac n cheese » as my side, & two pieces of chicken - a drumstick & a thigh. - The Mac n cheese was creamy, the noodles were a little soft which added to the smooth texture while still having a little bite to the noodles. - The sauce was very similar to KFC, & you can easily tell that this is not home made as it was overly thick & not physically like a gravy. It was a very strong seasoning similar to KFC, but more spicy & peppery. It was actually decent when dipped with the chicken but not a sauce I would brag about. - The chicken was the star as it was perfectly cooked, crispy, had some crunch, & nicely seasoned. It's so well seasoned it really does not need the gravy at all. The seasoning of the breading actually tasted similar to KFC (like the gravy) but it was little more spicy than KFC. The big difference is KFC had a gross amount of breaded fat & chicken & the pieces are very small as well as greasy & often KFC chicken is just unpleasant to eat. I don't know about the white meat or strips, but I did notice the french fries & they looked just like the cheap average frozen (McCain like) fries at Au Coq - I suggest avoiding the fries & go for the Mac n Cheese. The restaurant was in good order, service was friendly & genuine while also being exact & prompt with the order. I had a chance to speak with Tony, the owner of this Verdun franchise location & he genuinely wanted to know how i enjoyed the food, made a genuine effort typo speak about how proud he is of his franchise & how much he loves the organization & the products he serves - & his children love it as well "kid tested & approved". So I think this place is a defined repeat. I would also say to the parent company (Le Groupe Abbatiello), the choice of french fry is the weakest link in the offering & given the love of fries & poutine, whatever your sales are - i would almost guarantee you that if you would provide a real frenchfried potato or a close enough frozen product your sales would increase by at least 22%. I do not know what gravy is being used for the poutine, but if it is the same as the chicken - again, another weak point. Your gravy should not giggle, it should move in a naturally liquified manner. My guess is that it is a powder mix or some prepared product to reduce franchise error & quality control issues… I strongly urge you to improve on the gravy & think about something that people would at least believe was a fresh product. So to all, good eating & be patient with your servers. & thank you Tony for a great meal.Voir plus
Update from 3 years later: most of this still stands true. Quality went down at some point this year (2024) but glad to see that they corrected that! Original review: Hands down, best fast food fried chicken in the city. Been looking for a good one ever since I arrived in Montreal. Can finally say I found it after 6 years of searching. We take out from there at least once a week. "The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside." This classic is definitely true here. The burgers are also really well thought out & the different combos are really good. So are most of the sides -- special shout-out to the onion rings. One of the best I've had, & the portions are pretty big. That last one is generally true of all the menu. They are quite generous on the portion sizes. I probably have tried everything on the menu by now. Only thing that was somewhat disappointing was the poutine. Could use more sauce, & it should be warmer so that it melts the cheese a bit. It would also be nice to have some more intricate poutines, akin to their burgers. As it stands, they are quite bland.Voir plus
Excellent poulet, frites & sauce. Stationnement disponible. Musique beaucoup trop forte.
Great food & service. Only thing I would say is that the burgers are a bit dry. Missing some sauceVoir plus
No frills, flavourful food. Crispy, tender chicken. Amazeballz sauces. Friendly service.Voir plus
really like this place but wish there weren't sulfites in the spicy sauce used on the burgers. I was getting allergic reactions & had no idea why for awhile, so watch out if you're an asthmatic. other wish is that they had the marco spruce beer in bottle & not just in a can, for some reason the canned version has a really baking soda type taste aside from that, delicious, cute retro interior. sad the dunkin closed, seniors loved that place. but not a bad replacement will second some of the other reviews that lately the sides are hit or miss. the macaroni & fries genuinely suck. stick to the sandwiches in general edit 1 year later: the hot sauce still gives me allergic sulfite reactions so I avoid it I've had better experiences since with the sides, but the meat in the sandwiches is really inconsistent in terms of size now I almost only order when they have bogo daysVoir plus
Good food good quality of chicken Thanks a lot the sauce is also amazing The service & the waiters cashiers are fabulousVoir plus
Prices are really good! The chicken tastes awesome! The fries are ok. It would be more interesting to have fries that match with the chicken. But! The sauce! The sauce is something! The restaurant is a must to try!Voir plus
Sweetest most attentive cashier tonight was super helpful with what to choose... Got the chicken tenders & jack sauce with fries... Music was good restaurant was clean employees were amazing 10/10 recommendVoir plus
Very delicious fried chicken. Tried their burgers: Classic Jack, Jack Miel, & box of 8 chicken pieces. Also tried the poutine, I would prefer the poutine to have more sauce, because mine didn't have enough sauce & the cheese wasn't able to melt.. but I guess that's personal preference.
Great burger lots of meat
Could use more sauceVoir plus
