They have the best fried chicken in town, & if you're adventurous, the spicy version hits the spot, even single time. The multiple sauce chimoices is great (I always rake the hot honey & the Flame (it's not too spicy, so you can try it). The service is always very very pleasant & polite & kind. Try it. The owner John is always there to provide amazing service all around, & the pink neons offers a cool cozy yet cyberpunk-esque vibe... pure awesome spot!View more
This was the best god damned fried chicken I've had in my entire life, I had a chicken burger & wings, it absolutely rocked me & left me shaking in my little boots! service was also super friendly despite how slammed they were! ill be back asap.View more
Would have been 4 stars if they didn't cheat us of a chicken tender.
We ordered'la belle famille' & it's supposed to be 4 tenders & 4 fried chicken pieces. Got only 3 tenders
Other than that fries get cold & hard fast which leads me to believe they are frozen.
Chicken is crispy, poutine gravy is good.View more
The mark is 4 stars due to the frozen fries & below average non homemade gravy. This Verdun cute 50's style décor fried chicken restaurant, once a Dunkin Doughnuts location, has quickly made itself a good reputation in the Verdun neighbourhood. FOOD: Chicken: I tried the two piece chicken box that included a delicious highly seasoned thick gravy, a generous portion of the « Mac n cheese » as my side, & two pieces of chicken - a drumstick & a thigh. - The Mac n cheese was creamy, the noodles were a little soft which added to the smooth texture while still having a little bite to the noodles. - The sauce was very similar to KFC, & you can easily tell that this is not home made as it was overly thick & not physically like a gravy. It was a very strong seasoning similar to KFC, but more spicy & peppery. It was actually decent when dipped with the chicken but not a sauce I would brag about. - The chicken was the star as it was perfectly cooked, crispy, had some crunch, & nicely seasoned. It's so well seasoned it really does not need the gravy at all. The seasoning of the breading actually tasted similar to KFC (like the gravy) but it was little more spicy than KFC. The big difference is KFC had a gross amount of breaded fat & chicken & the pieces are very small as well as greasy & often KFC chicken is just unpleasant to eat. I don't know about the white meat or strips, but I did notice the french fries & they looked just like the cheap average frozen (McCain like) fries at Au Coq - I suggest avoiding the fries & go for the Mac n Cheese. The restaurant was in good order, service was friendly & genuine while also being exact & prompt with the order. I had a chance to speak with Tony, the owner of this Verdun franchise location & he genuinely wanted to know how i enjoyed the food, made a genuine effort typo speak about how proud he is of his franchise & how much he loves the organization & the products he serves - & his children love it as well "kid tested & approved". So I think this place is a defined repeat. I would also say to the parent company (Le Groupe Abbatiello), the choice of french fry is the weakest link in the offering & given the love of fries & poutine, whatever your sales are - i would almost guarantee you that if you would provide a real frenchfried potato or a close enough frozen product your sales would increase by at least 22%. I do not know what gravy is being used for the poutine, but if it is the same as the chicken - again, another weak point. Your gravy should not giggle, it should move in a naturally liquified manner. My guess is that it is a powder mix or some prepared product to reduce franchise error & quality control issues… I strongly urge you to improve on the gravy & think about something that people would at least believe was a fresh product. So to all, good eating & be patient with your servers. & thank you Tony for a great meal.View more
Update from 3 years later: most of this still stands true. Quality went down at some point this year (2024) but glad to see that they corrected that! Original review: Hands down, best fast food fried chicken in the city. Been looking for a good one ever since I arrived in Montreal. Can finally say I found it after 6 years of searching. We take out from there at least once a week. "The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside." This classic is definitely true here. The burgers are also really well thought out & the different combos are really good. So are most of the sides -- special shout-out to the onion rings. One of the best I've had, & the portions are pretty big. That last one is generally true of all the menu. They are quite generous on the portion sizes. I probably have tried everything on the menu by now. Only thing that was somewhat disappointing was the poutine. Could use more sauce, & it should be warmer so that it melts the cheese a bit. It would also be nice to have some more intricate poutines, akin to their burgers. As it stands, they are quite bland.View more
Hot, crispy & amazing portion sizes. The food is great & a great spot for a bite to eat. Fried chicken is normally super greasy but not here :) nee favorite spot.View more

Great service. Super solid mains & sides. The fried chicken is really crispy & juicy. The gravy is addictive & delightfully peppery. Love being able to get mac'n'cheese as a side. The pink lemonade slush is also fantastic, & they even have spruce beer from a local provider!View more
We tried the crispy fried chicken. It was well cooked & the chicken was delicious. Will try again for sure.View more
This place has the best fried chicken in the city, & staff is always very warm to customers despite the high quantity of people coming in. This is the place if you're hungry for a great piece of fried chickenView more
Very good ambiance!! I loved the staff. The main person at the entrance was so welcoming & kind to us. Also the food is amazing ! Let me tell you, you won't taste as good fried chicken no where else ❤️View more
The waiter/cashier was very nice! Service was quick & the food was amazing! I recommend it to anyone who loves fried chicken 👌👌View more
Loved the Fried Chickens! I was looking for a good fried chicken restaurant that is Halal, & to my surprise it was just 5 minutes away from my home. So happy to find this. Totally worth it. The chicken was crispy on the outside with a lot of flavors, & inside it was juicy & also full of flavor. Would definitely go again. One thing that can be improved is the coleslaw salad. It wasn't the best as it had very little seasoning. But for chicken I give it a 5 star.View more
THE BEST fried chicken in Montreal! I had their Jack burger & it was so crispy & full of flavour, their fries are delicious & crispy as well! Not to mention how cool the place looks!View more
One of the friendliest, grooviest places to eat delicious fried chicken. What the place lacks in finesse it more than makes it up with staff (Robin & Evelyn FTW!) that really care about the place & their clients. It is one of my favourite Wellington haunts to spend a late eating enjoying an always satisfying meal in such a cool dinner atmosphere. & kudos for the Gen X playlists chaining classic 80s hits!View more
Fast food joint with good fried chicken. We only came in because we missed our bus & the store was brightly lit. The service was a bit slow though because there was only one person at the front desk taking orders & serving the food. The bathrooms weren't entirely clean & the tables weren't clean either.View more
Jac Le Coq! Need I say more? This place serves fried chicken, fried chicken sandwiches with fries an various other sides like corn or macaroni salad. In my eyes, there aren't many chicken places that can compete with KFC (or with Korean friend chicken) but Jac Le Coq is definitely up there, or perhaps even beyond. I got the Pickle Jack (Look Morty, I'm a sandwich!) to go, & it was still warm when I got home 10 minutes later in -6 weather. Personally, I think the chicken could use more salt but I'm a smoker so my taste buds are not at their full strength. Super good chicken, give it a try ! The atmosphere is cool, its like a modern version of a 50s diner & while I don't drink, they do offer 2 kinds of beer to drink while eating your chicken. The employees are super nice, speedy & efficient. Especially Robin & the other multi-haired girl working with her on this night (1/15/2024). I'm sorry I didn't get your name ! All in all, as a Verduner its weird seeing a chicken place where the Dunkin was forever, but if something has to replace it, I'm glad its Jacs !! Try it out today !View more
Very delicious fried chicken. Tried their burgers: Classic Jack, Jack Miel, & box of 8 chicken pieces. Also tried the poutine, I would prefer the poutine to have more sauce, because mine didn't have enough sauce & the cheese wasn't able to melt.. but I guess that's personal preference.View more
The fried chicken was not fully cooked, so a little soggy inside 😕 The classic burger was good, though not very large.View more
This place used to serve great fried chicken-I might have had the best fried chicken I have ever had in this place about two years ago, right when Covid was wrapping up its vicious end. Unfortunately, the food is no longer what it used to be. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's just not the same. That said, it's not bad food, but it certainly used to be a lot better. I hope it will return to its former glory. We will certainly continue visiting this place.View more
I didn't know they did full fried chicken pieces & accidentally ordered that when I wanted strips. Possibly the worst fried chicken I've ever had. Bad in so many ways it's hard to start. The little wood fork they give is not strong enough to remove meat from the bone & the chicken seemed to be an unusually high amount of very strong ligaments (I don't think that can be their fault)
Just make sure you open strips.
To the restaurant: you are so bad at frying chicken you really should check what a customer means be "3 piece combo"View more
Great fried chicken in a very cool setting. Old-school diner vibes with a new school flare.View more
