Quebec comfort food, far from the commercial chicken of our competitors. We use high-tech equipment to offer a superior quality product!Bigger pieces of chicken than you already know!A fried and crispy delight!
Jack le Coq is widely praised for its fried chicken, with tenders and larger pieces described as juicy inside and crispy outside, and sauces ranging from spicy to sweet are often highlighted. Portions are generous and flavors consistent, with many saying the chicken is excellent and the menu items like burgers and wraps are solid, set in a retro diner ambiance with neon lighting and arcade vibes. Price is a common talking point, with some reviewers calling it pricey for the portions and some noting sauce and sides can push up the cost. Service and cleanliness receive mixed feedback: some visits are fast, friendly, and efficient, while others report slow service, errors in orders, long waits, and dirty tables or bathrooms. The experience can be influenced by the venue's crowd level and takeout timing, with some lines and takeout orders feeling rushed or mishandled. A notable caution is raised about halal status: although claimed, the grill is shared with pork, leading to cross contamination concerns for some diners. Overall, the quality of the chicken and the retro atmosphere stand out, making return visits likely for the chicken, though improvements in service consistency and cleanliness would elevate the experience.
This is the first time in montreal that I try fried chicken that feels great in taste & an amazing ratio of chicken to breading. Also the chicken is not drenched in oil or overcooked. The place is clean & the ambiance is nice. Definitely coming back!
I brought a family combo of crispy chicken breasts & the taste was amazing, the service is very nice. I will rate them with 5 stars. Why not opening other branches especially in Saint-Jerome. Thank you jack le coq

Go for the chicken & gravy, forget the fries.
If you miss the old KFC sauce than this will give you some nostalgia, I admit it is a little too thick but the taste is pretty good. The batter stays crispy, chicken is tender & juicy on the inside, if you can eat spicy you have to try the red tenders, it is a bit pricier but the size of the pieces are much bigger than other places so it's worth it. They also have promotions during the week if your looking for a deal.
The fried chicken is pretty good, especially the red spicy chicken. The brown sauce tasted good but it was too thick (gelatinous). Everything else is not great... The french fries are disappointing, they really should use fresh cut potatoes, especially for the price we're paying... It's too expensive for what it is (like most restaurants these days). Also, if you go in winter, the restaurant constantly gets cold air drafts from doors opening on both side of the restaurant.
The chicken was definitely a 6/10 for me. They need to work on the seasoning , not enough seasoning to make me want the second piece. The prices are pretty expensive for what you get. I will give them props though because the chicken was CRUNCHY, & not oily whatsoever.

I loved the experience & the food is delicious. The employee Rhodina was exceptionally nice greeted me with a great smile & very helpful with the menu. I loved her service & food was better than I expected. Chicken was crunchy the burger was tasty & even their simple fries was fun & enjoyable. The portions are good unlike other fried chicken places & so was the gravy very light & not too salty like others. Highly recommend as the place is huge with big tables for big families & really cool atmosphere. Again staff like Rhodina makes you feel welcome & pleased to come back again.
