India's Oven had been our favorite restaurant for years. Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated. The variety of dishes is less & the food is so salty! We've never tasted such salty Indian food in our lives.View more
Wow! Yesterday I picked up some fried fish & Butter chicken & naan. All 3 items were amazing Every Indian restaurant have butter chicken on their menu but at this resto it is exactly like I use to have in India chicken is shredded & not cubed cut... & FISH oh! Boy just amazing I ate half of it on the way home only... sooooo good. Bravo!View more
The food is authentic, which is already a key factor for an Indian restaurant. But what really amazes me is the vibe of the dining room, & I can't forget to mention the great staff they have!View more
By far my favourite Indian food in the city. Really welcoming atmosphere, beautiful decor, super cool people!View more
Was looking for a spot for quick Indian food & came across this gem. Exceeded all my expectations 👌View more
They newly renovated their restaurant & it looks BEAUTIFUL. Flowers on the ceiling, near the window, it was very elegant & neat. We were told they serve halal. The food was overall good except for some items. They have good portions. Hot & sour soup was delicious, however at the time they didn't have plain soups like crème of mushroom or a simple vegetable soup for people who have dietary restrictions for health. We also got chicken biryani, which was a miss this time around. It was more sweet which was confusing. We also got a non-veg platter that included shrimp, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka & a little salad. Good value for money. Their naans are nice as well, & it would be amazing if they served hummus with it. We also got their fish pakora in the beginning, they were the best by far. If you get these, get extra. We tried the daal as well (which we got on the house), & it was satisfying with the naan. My most favorite part of this restaurant is how lovely & kind these people are. The chefs are very sweet, the servers are beyond caring. They genuinely want you to have the best experience. Overall, I really recommend going to this place. Very very sweet people. Good food. Aesthetic remodeling & beautiful interior. You can definitely take cute pictures here. From a cute girls brunch or dinner to an anniversary, this restaurant would be a great one to go if you're looking for Indian cuisine.View more
Just opened today, the best indian food i ever ate, & the best service :) !!!View more
[Closed temporarily (?) as of writing this review] The best Indian restaurant in Parc-Extension! Very underrated. We usually take the Butter Chicken, Lamb Jalfrezi, Baingan Bharta, Fish Pakora & another vegetable dish. The Butter Chicken is very creamy & thick (not watered down like in so many other places...). The other dishes are not too greasy, & they can really kick the spice level up if you ask them. The naan is always nicely cooked. The staff is friendly. The only downside is the in-house experience is not too great (often empty...), but that is common with most restaurants in the neighborhood since people mostly get takeout. I really hope they reopen.View more
When it comes to authentic Indian food, you really have to look out for the atmosphere as you walk into the restaurant. Is it very nicely done, clearn, somewhat fancy? Then the food is going to be mid. What you want to see is an awkward atmosphere that is trying to be formal but failing to do so. The Christmas lights, the late 90s-esque furniture & & layout & overall lack of pomp – all told me what I needed to in order to get a reading on how good the food was going to be. Prices are about average for Indian fare today. Although the portions are a bit small, the meat quantities are a bit shy. A dish can’t be shared by more than 2 people, you’ll need to order multiples if you have more than 2 people in your group. I enjoyed the naans except for the cheese naan, which was way too broken-up in their attempts to put cheese in it. The type of cheese used just didn’t layer very well either. This place specializes more in curries than tandoori BBQ. They are thick & flavourful. But curries aren't made in the oven so weird choice of name to be honest. Their lamb is not overly boney or fatty which was relieving. Service was alright. Friendly enough but lacked precision. Ventiliation could be a bit better, there was a slight odour but again funny enough this is something you actually want to find in a good Indian restautaunt. Overall this place is a solid pick for authentic Indian food.View more
