I've been to this restaurant 3 times & it's been an exceptional experience every time. The food is fantastic & I must admit to mostly coming back for the shiso sours (my new favourite cocktail). What really stands out to me is the service, though. 2 of the 3 times I've been there, our server Kathy made the experience so much better! Between remembering my drink order from the first time I came, to recommending the best vegetarian options, to doting on our table in a timely, efficient manner, I'll keep coming back just to sit in her section!!View more

via LibroThe food was great, but it is quite annoying that we couldn't order off the ramen menu just because we reserved. Maybe it makes sense for later reservations, but we reserved for 18:00, & when I got there the place was practically empty. If I had just walked in off the street we would have been good to go, but because I reserved we were restricted to the Izakaya menu, which to be fair was excellent anyway so can't really complain. I'd recommend not bothering with reservations unless you know you plan to go at a busy time.

A lot to say about this place. Overall, great place to come back to. They separated the ramen & izakaya area, so the reservation only get you the izakaya menu & ramen is on a first come first serve base. As other comments noted, place is really crowded, you hit another table within your arm's reach. Seat is not comfortable at all. Service was just so so. Not very attentive. Had to stop a server to get more water. Waited more than 10min for the bill. Now I understand they are busy, & the limited space doesn't really allow for more servers on the floor. Maybe don't make it so crowded... Food is bipolar. Their regular menu is great. I had the gyu tartare, cod, & fried ramen from their regular menu & they are above standard. Fresh, flavourful, & decent portions. I got the fried pork from their seasonal (winter) menu & it was meh. Proportion of the meat is off, too much fat, salty. Vegetables aren't enough to offset the grease from pork fat. Not an enjoyable dish to have. Cocktail I got the peach one & like it.View more
via LibroWe sat down & when we ordered all of our dishes came at the same time & within 5 minutes after ordering. Clearly the food couldn't have been made in that time, there was no journey or experience for the meal, & it was obviously all pre-prepared & it meant we were finished with our meal within 30 minutes. It took away from the experience & felt like they just wanted to get people in & out.

Waitress lacked experience, waited for service for 20 min before getting a drink.
Small portions but good food.
We asked to change tables to a more comfortable table (several empty tables)
Waitress made us feel bad about asking for that by saying "she would only let us change tables if we insisted"
I understand that it's not ideal for the staff when it's really busy but the tables were free & nobody arrived after us.
Also there's a weird rule about not ordering Ramen only if you reserve. But if you don't plan ahead, you can be rewarded with ramen!
Overall good food though

I lived many years in Vancouver & I can firmly say this is the best Ramen of Quebec (I tried a few places in quebec ville & they don't know what they are doing over there 🙈) Please try the octopus appetizer, it's fire! & be ready to wait for a while because there is a long waiting list at this place, that is totally worth it!View more
