Each generous dish comprises a big, thick chunk of cutlets served with rice (katsudon), udon (curry) or bread (sando). The lunch specials were a bang for your buck, offering a combo with a second extra soup.View more
Very cute restaurant, food was exceptional, generous both in size & in price. Bit of a slow service, but well worth it for the food.
Heavily recommend the Hire Curry UdonView more
The Japanese food at this restaurant is really authentic. I especially love the tempura udon!View more
Comment dire ?!
View more
Amazing food & friendly service. I recommend this restaurant. I would definitely recommend the tempura Udon, 10/10View more
Nice little japanese restaurant located in a quiet alley in Chinatown. Seating is limited but the food is very nice. The menu is not that extensive as well. Food is not too pricey & is surely filling. I tried the Menchi Katsu & Hiru Katsu Udon. The Menchi Katsu was okayish, but the Hiru Katsu Udon was delicious. The udon had an amazing texture & the curry sauce was very flavourful. They even give out a creamy mushroom soup in the beginning, which is absolutely delicious. Would surely want to visit again & try the other dishes they offer.View more
Hoshi in Montreal's Chinatown is a delight! The Tempura Udon was loaded with crispy shrimp tempura, savory tare sauce, & a perfect soft-boiled egg-pure comfort in a bowl. The katsu don with tender pork, scrambled egg, & fresh green onions was equally amazing. Great flavors, cozy vibe, & friendly service. A must-visit!View more
Found about this place not that long ago. The food is great, so much so that my partner wants to come back to try out everything else. Creamy soup is offered at the start, I enjoyed it. Then entrées of Menchi Katsu & Spicy Tuna Salad are also tasty with the avocado on both. Then, I went for Hire Katsu Curry Udon while my partner went for Katsudon. Yeah, I really need to go back again when I feel the hunger 🤤
Note: Spicy Tuna Salad spiciness is from the slaw beneath the few tuna slices. If you can't handle spicy, I'd suggest not to or bring someone that can handle it & willing to take it from you 😅View more
Just got back from Japan, & Hoshi's tempura udon tastes just like I am still there! Atmosphere feels authentic as well. So happy I walked by today & found them - a new gem!!View more
The service & food were good, but the soups (1st one was a creamy one taste like the Campbell mushroom soup & the 2nd one was a miso base) were both cold 🥶. I did tell them about it, & they immediately switched for me. Overall, good tonkatsu & udon bowl. I'll come back to give them a 2nd tryView more
Went there last Saturday for dinner. It was the most delicious udon I've ever had. The waitresses were all so nice too. By the way, I sat right in front of the door, so it was kind of cold. But it was amazing in general!!View more
Came here for dinner & It was busy but we luckily got seated right away I got the Shrimp Udon Soup & it was bursting with so much flavor, the udon was perfectly cooked, & all of the toppings were so delicious. Staff is also super friendly & although its small I loved the overall vibe of the restaurant :) I liked the soup so much that I went back the next day but this time right when they opened! Staff was again very friendly, attentive, & the soup was just as good as the day before! I truly enioyed both of my visits & cant wait to come back again!View more
