The foods was great! Service is fast. I like the variety of sushi & the fruit sushi was delicious
If you're looking for a korean bbq + AYCE sushi, Hoshi offers both without sacrificing the taste of either.
I would say the variety is hit or miss depending on if you wanted anything really specific, but I can't fault them for that as it isn't common for an AYCE to be both a sushi & a bbq place. It could also be that their lunch menu is different from their evening menu.
The food overall is good, the atmosphere feels inviting, & the staff are definitely worth praising for their friendly & outgoing attitude.
My bill for the lunch menu ended up being around 65$ before tips for 2 people, which isn't bad in my opinion.
If you got a car, or got easy bus access somehow, this place is solid & I can definitely recommend at least trying it once to see if you vibe with it.
The food was delicious! I loved the variety of sushi options, all the different types of meat to cook, & all the different tempura options. Would highly recommend & definitely going to be back!
I don't get why the reviews are so great. The kbbq is average & the sushi are average. I would prefer that they specialized in 1 of the 2 types of cuisine & made it well.
If you have ever been to a real kbbq (in Montreal or even South Korea), you won't like it here. The menu doesn't have pork belly (samgyeopsal), japchae, sesame oil with salt, pickled onions, corn cheese, kimchi jigae, etc. It's not even close to a real kbbq experience. You should go to Mon Ami kbbq on St-Jean!
For the sushi part, it's fine but mot great. Plus they don't have sashimis on the menu which was, to us, very disappointing for an all-you-can-eat sushi. Matsuno on St-Jean is so so much better!
Also, the kitchen closed at 21h30 on a Saturday night... that's too early.
I hope they can improve eventually! 🙏
Great concept, good variety of sushi, shrimp tempura was the best, the Korean bbq menu was great. Service is incredibly fast.
The service & the food is insane! The price is very good considering there's sushi! Will be returning for sure!
