Review Summary

Reviews of Hoshi BBQ coréen describe a lively, welcoming atmosphere with a very friendly staff and strong value thanks to a wide all you can eat menu that blends Korean BBQ with sushi and skewers, fast service, and a QR based ordering system that keeps dishes flowing and crowds happy. Many diners praise the high quality of meats and fresh sushi, the variety, and the comfortable, family friendly vibe, with some calling it a go to spot for casual outings and gatherings. However, some experiences note downsides such as dishes being overly salty or not as fresh on certain visits, occasional smoky odors from limited ventilation, and inconsistent service with some staff interactions that detracted from the night. A few reviewers also mention issues with a rude hostess, pushy tipping behavior, or logistical hiccups like parking or reservation needs, but these are outweighed by positive impressions for most and many say they would return.

Pros:
A) Korean, Japanese & Chinese style cuisine which is nice.
B) The manager & servers were attentive & well trained.
C) The food was alright & okay Sushi's were good & so were the meats.

Cons:
A) The Bathrooms need better attention & renovations.
B) The front area needs a better attention as well.
C) They have WiFi & it's locked so if you need to order. If you need to order via WiFi How?
D) You only use your phone to order other places have iPads & touchscreens or paper menu etc.
E) The lighting & ventilation can be better as well from my perspective.

Conclusion:
Been here 3x & I am just not a fan of this style of concept. It used to be an improvement 2-3 years ago now It changed & now I am indifferent on this establishment.

God Bless! Thanks be to God!

Hoshi Korean bbq & sushi is our go to spot with the kids. Totally worth it at lunch time. My son loves Korean bbq & my girls are all about sushi so it's the perfect combination for our family. The older waiter is always kind & welcoming. Great place for a family meal!

I find myself at Hoshi almost every month-sometimes even more often depending on the craving. It's easily one of my go-to spots for Korean BBQ, especially when I'm with friends. We've never had issues walking in as a small group, but if you're going with more than four people, definitely reserve ahead since you'll need multiple booths.

Let me tell you, the service here is insanely fast. Once you place your order (which is done through your phone after scanning their QR code), the dishes start coming out almost immediately. It's honestly the quickest service I've experienced at any restaurant.

They used to have separate lunch & dinner menus, but now it seems everything is available all day-which is a win in my book. The menu is loaded with options, & they've even expanded it over time. Between the Korean BBQ, sushi, & skewers, you're getting a great variety. Most places would charge extra for skewers & other add-ons, but not here.

We come so often that the staff recognizes us as regulars, & they always treat us with top-notch service.

Great food! Fast service & everything is really tasty & well marinated. The menu is a QR code you scan on your phone & then order from your phone. Initially, I found the meat & fish portions a bit small but that's actually good because you will be super full after. I will come back again for the supper service with my kids. 5 stars & better than the Korean BBQ restos I've been to downtown.

I had an amazing time at this Korean BBQ spot! The food was absolutely delicious - the meat was fresh, perfectly seasoned, & grilled right at the table, which added to the whole fun of the experience. Every bite was packed with flavor, & the side dishes (especially the kimchi & dipping sauces) were top-notch.

What really made the night stand out, though, was the owner. The Asian boss was incredible - super friendly, welcoming, & clearly passionate about the food & the service. He checked in with us multiple times to make sure everything was perfect & even gave us a few tips on how to grill the meat the Korean way. His energy really lifted the whole vibe of the place.

Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a great meal & a warm, memorable experience!

Fantastic place to have Korean BBQ if you're not in a hurry. 2 hour seating time to enjoy all you can eat.... Just make sure that you order what you can finish (1.50$ for each uneaten item). Very cosy atmosphere & very friendly service

We hated the concept Stupid annoying ordering system you have to order with your phone after scanning a a QR code or on of their tablets seriously No waiter to help you understand the menu or ask questions to. no traditional menu to order from & when the food comes raw, you have to cook it yourself on a hot plate in the middle of the table.not like traditional Korean restaurants where you can order something like kalbi ribs they bring it fully prepared & cooked by professional Korean chefs the fried chicken & onion rings did come already cooked because they don't have deep fryers at the table!

Walked in Hoshi with no reservation & no prior Korean bbq experience. The receptionist was very nice & found us a table even though it was a Friday evening, they gave us an hour & a half before the tables reservation would arrive. We get seated & the bbq gets lit. Electronic menu on your phone so you can order constantly is a nice way to do things. So I get a Sapporo pitcher (yeah, yeah, sue me) for the lady & I along with some veggies & meat. Everything arrived almost instantly. Sushies & other Asian style foods are available. Beef, pork, veal, chicken, shrimps & the likes & they also have seasoned skewers of the aforementioned meats. You got the typical Asian style American food also (heavily fried & pankoed items) All in all we ate to our content & the food was very good. 41.99$ per person plus the beer & tip got me just south of 150$ Kids eat for cheaper. Strong 4 out of 5, enjoyed it much, will return. Unrelated picture of the eclipse for visibility

First time here a couple of days ago & it was alright. I've had better korean bbq than this one. Variety of food could be better, I couldn't find anything noodles or fried rice on the menu. Just white 🍚. Service was good, no negatives there. Just know that you only have a max. of 2hrs to order & be done eating from the time you get seated. I most likely won't be back here again but it was good. & I'll recommend their mango ice cream to anyone that goes there. The best I've had anywhere that's all you can eat.

Quite a wide variety of options & the food is pretty good. The sushi is what you would expect from an all you can eat that mostly focuses on Korean BBQ (the fish doesn't really taste fresh & lots of rice). The meats were a little chewy, but the taste was good. Service was very nice & quick. Overall not a bad place to go for some all you can eat in the West Island.

Good food & service, very much on par with other Korean bbq sushi places. Maybe a bit pricey for this kind of restaurant? Sushi ingredients are fairly fresh. The pork & beef options are a bit fatty, but still fresh.

On December 29 at 5:30 p.m., there were 12 of us having dinner at Hoshi. We were divided into two tables. For our table we ordered soup, seafood, Korean BBQ meat & sushi. The soup, seafood & Korean BBQ meat were quickly served, but we noticed that the sushi was not served. We thought the staff was too busy & the sushi would eventually be served. However, after 1 hour we still didn't have any sushi, so we decided to inform the staff. Two waiters came to us & asked us which sushi were missing. We were very surprised that they didn't know what food was served & what food was missing. Then sushi was served. After that, a waiter (~20 years old, 1.65m tall, ~80Kg) came with a plate containing 3 pieces of spicy salmon & tuna Nigiri. We realized this plate was already served so we asked if it could be returned. The waiter took the plate back to the kitchen & came later with the same plate. He said in a mad voice that we must take this plate since it is prepared for us. We told them that if in the first place, they knew what food was served & what food is missing, this situation could not have happened. The waiter asked us why we were so frustrated & we responded that we didn't want to have the same plate twice & that if the service was good in the first place, this situation couldn't happen. He said a mistake could happen & he took the plate & taped it to our table "BANG" & left. We were all in shock to see this act of violence. We have never experienced this kind of attitude from a server in the past. This is unacceptable. We hope the owner can identify this staff & provide him with more training. If he is not aware of his horrible behavior, he will make another victim & it will damage Hoshi's reputation. We really like the food, but with this waiter's attitude we don't recommend this place. Food: 4/5, Service: 0/5, Atmosphere: 4/5.
