Reviews describe Hoche Glacé as a beloved neighborhood ice cream spot with a wide variety of flavors and a strong focus on quality ingredients, including standout vegan and dairy free options that many say rival traditional dairy in taste and texture. The menu ranges from classic creamy scoops to sorbet and vegan soft serve, with favorites such as matcha pistachio, pistachio matcha tourbillon, apple crumble tourbillon, tiramisu tourbillon, and chocolate dips, and several tasters note generous portions and creative textures. While the ambiance is praised as cozy and welcoming with a pleasant sit down area, prices are frequently noted as high and some reviewers feel portions or value could be better, especially for certain tourbillons and toppings. Service is repeatedly described as friendly and patient, contributing to a strong neighborhood vibe, though a few visits report long lines, busy crowds, or occasional slow service. The store is seen as a destination for dairy free dessert lovers and to stroll around Hochelaga, with many recommending returning to try more flavors and to sample new flavors. Overall Hoche Glacé emerges as a top choice for ice cream in Montreal with a broad appeal to vegans and non vegans alike, but potential visitors should be prepared for peak time queues and higher prices relative to other spots.
Your senses aren't prepared for the intense chocolate, cinnamon, & all things delicious smelling! Have your Google Translate ready too if you don't speak French
Wonderful selection of ice creams & sorbet. Obviously top quality ingredients. Friendly staff. When my partner's strawberry ice cream fell off the cone outside at the picnic table, one of the women at the next table went in & told staff. One of the servers brought out a new ice cream! Formidable!
🍦 Cool down in the heart of HOMA! 🍦

Great selection of ice cream. Great options for dairy free (I guess vegan if you suppose) ice cream, that actually taste great. Went there 2 times, both times the dairy free options were almost indistinguishable to the regular ones.

Cozy environment, server is very nice & patient. Although the price is a bit at a higher end but the quality is a top notch!! Will come again in the future. We love matcha pistachios ice cream! The creamy of the ice cream & bunch of pistachios inside are amazing❤?
Delicious & great quality! I paid $10.35 for this. It's a good size, but I am not sure I would pay $11 for this. I would definitely come again & try their dipped ice cream cones!

Top notch ice cream place, with a nice little place to sit 👈, Thanks 👌...
