was passing by the corner, kind of craving a banhmi... bought a few & ate one immediately on the street...no improvements at all... the taste of carrots & daikon even worst than what i last try, it's not fully marinated it's like fresh carrots with a bit of vinaigre. the bread after getting toasted... there are burn marks & the crusts is hard & dry that cut open my lips while bitting in. it's worst than supermarket bandmi...

Almost 5 years haven't gone to this place... Parking is easier, the street is dead compared to 5-10 years ago. The food didn't taste as good, it's bland... The carrots & daikon are not as crisp doesn't give off the kick needed, shy on cilantro, couldn't taste the pork liver pate. The bread was chewy even though they toasted it,it was still mushy.
It's alright as a sandwich for the price. But a bit disappointing. It used to be the best banhmi around for an unbeatable price...now it tastes like a supermarket banhmi.
Their food was not fresh. We bought 30 rice cakes with meat loaf when we tried the first one it tasted really old. We had to trash the rest. It was shame on them!
Excellent bahn-mi, freshly made to order. Can't beat the price - 7 to 9$ per sandwich is an amazing deal.
Why the best Bahn Mi? No cucumbers in their baguette sandwiches, made fresh , perfectly priced cheaper than their competitors on the island, go ahead & pay 10$ for an over rated Bahn mi elsewhere, it's just stupid in my opinion.
This is my favourite banh mi in the whole city, I will forever be recommending them. The women are always so kind, the bread is fresh & crisp, it's affordable & so flavourful! My go to is the grilled chicken.
Bánh Mì Hoàng Oanh! Spring 2025 💐🎉
Chinatown Montreal is absolutely thriving this spring! The area feels clean, vibrant, & safe, with a welcoming atmosphere day & night. I appreciated the visible security presence & how tidy the streets & storefronts were - it really enhances the experience of strolling through.
The food scene is outstanding. One of my favorite stops was Bánh Mì Hoàng Oanh - their Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches are packed with flavor, super fresh, & affordable. The crispy bread, savory meats, & pickled veggies make it a must-try spot.
Other highlights included pho at Pho Bang New York, delicious dim sum at Kam Fung, & classic Chinese dishes at Restaurant Beijing. Plus, the small shops around are full of charm, offering everything from traditional teas to Asian snacks.
Chinatown in spring 2025 is the perfect mix of great food, clean streets, & safe vibes. A must-visit for anyone in Montreal!
Generous portion on a very nice fresh crispy bread. Bbq Pork is delicious, condiments are crunchy & tasty. Price is very low & service friendly, highly recommended! To go only, cash only - no card fees for the business: better price for customers :)
This sandwich shop makes the absolute most delicious Bánh mì in Montreal! Hands down. They have the freshest & most tasty shredded & grilled chicken options that you can get either spicy or not. The flavours are really out of this world. Their family run business is really friendly, fast, & efficient. I honestly can't say enough about how delicious their sandwich options are! They also have other traditional Vietnamese treats & food options that I'm sure are like a taste of home for those seeking authentic Vietnamese cuisine. & I love that they only take cash & have one of the most loyal customer base in town! Thank you Hoang Oanh Sandwiches team for so many years of the best sandwiches in town
In a sea of banh mi shops in Montreal. THIS is the OG & the absolute freshest banh mi one can get. My relatives & I usually buy 20-40 banh mi to take back to our province as we can not banh mi this caliber in the Maritimes! LOVE THIS PLACE
Great little shop in Chinatown selling various authentic homemade Vietnamese snacks/food, things you don't always find in groceries or restaurants. The price is taxes included & very reasonable (or maybe the cheapest!) compared to other places. They also have a Vietnamese sandwich "banh mi" counter making it fresh when you order, also very good. They have a stamp card where you get a free sandwich after buying 10. There's no place to sit here so just for takeout. There's another Hoang Oanh sandwich on St-Denis same chain but different owner. Both are great, totally recommend.
