Havre aux Glaces is described by reviewers as a place with attractive decor and a pleasant atmosphere, where service is generally good but the food can be hit or miss. Many visits highlight the outside terrace in summer and the ice cream experience, while a business lunch is noted as slower with issues like bones in fish and high prices for small shrimp. Overall, the ice creams and sorbets are praised as delicious and flavorful, with standout flavors including mango, coconut, pistachio and caramel varieties, and some call it the best or a must visit. The shop's location by the canal and the open seating area are frequently mentioned as enhancing the experience, though lines and crowding can occur. Taken together, Havre aux Glaces is seen as a reliable go to for classic flavors and a scenic place to enjoy ice cream, with many noting good value for the quality and generous scoops.
I love the decor & atmosphere. Service is good, but food can be hit or miss. First visit in summer was great at the outside terrace. Recent visit for a business lunch was not so good. Fish had bones in it & service was slow. Shrimps were small & prices were high. I would still give it one more try.

Best ice cream & sorbet! This is a must & we go all time! The mango & the caramel brûlé maple are the best! I've also bought some to take for dessert to a dinner we were invited, huge hit!
Without a doubt, this is the most delicious ice cream you can have. When you eat the coconut flavor, it feels like you're actually eating real coconut. & when I tried their hazelnut ice cream, for a moment it felt like I was enjoying a handful of fresh, tasty hazelnuts. The sweetness was perfectly balanced, just the way it should be.
Our go-to spot for classic ice cream flavours that never disappoint. We got a combo of dulce de leche & pistachio, & maple burnt caramel with coconut milk. Both were delicious, & the prices were reasonable. There is also a nice open space where you can sit & enjoy your ice cream by the canal.
