I have no complaints about the food-it was good. My only issue is with the cleanliness of the place. Since this is a restaurant, it's hard to fully enjoy your meal when the dining area isn't clean. I would have given it 4 stars, but because of the cleanliness, I'm giving it 3.

Every time I come to Montreal, at least once a year from Australia, a colleague & I go here after falling into it 2 or 4 years ago.
The menu is complex but awesome. The staff know their stuff. The pre chosen menus or al a carte approach are equally stunning. You almost cannot go wrong. A miso soup to die for & it only goes up from there!
Rarely do I give a 5 for anything but this is definitely a 5!

We had a wonderful experience at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ! The food was delicious, & the atmosphere was great. What really made our visit special was the outstanding service from our Winnie waitress. She was friendly, attentive, & made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She checked on us regularly, answered our questions with a smile, & made us feel very welcome. Her excellent customer service truly enhanced our dining experience. We'll definitely be back & highly recommend this restaurant!

Portion is smaller than expected especially for the price. But everything is very fresh & most of the seasoning/marinade are very delicious
