The staff is incredibly friendly & efficient; they are all awesome! The quality of the food is top-notch, & the portions are surprisingly generous, especially for the price.
The menu for four is perfect. We initially thought there wouldn't be enough food, but we were eating our words two hours later. It's a great spot for groups or a tête-à-tête, as the ambient noise is at a perfect level & you don't need to scream to be heard.
The cocktails are quite good, & they have a great deal if you order a round of four. I strongly recommend that you make a reservation if you want to go between 6:00 PM & 9:00 PM, Thursday through Sunday, or anytime during the summer.

Easily my most visited restaurant in Montreal, I highly recommend everyone to pass by Gyu-Kaku if you're looking for an authentic Japanese BBQ experience. They have a wide variety of menu items & also a seasonal menu that includes some nice surprises here & there.
This place never disappoints - The meat is fresh & delicious, the service is impeccable, & the staff are very friendly & accommodating! We went to celebrate a birthday recently, & the team & our wonderful server, Eric, happily accepted to serve us a cake we brought in, light the candles, & even sang to the birthday boy! I recommend ordering the'group bbq' to share if it's your first time, though beware: it's a lot of food!
Aujourd'hui , je suis venue avec ma famille pour souper au Gyu-Kaku & c'était excellent! On était un party de 3 & on a mangé comme des rois! La cuisine était variée & très remplissant pour un combo de 130$. Le moyen de cuisson pour les aliments était très excitant. L'ambiance était très chaleureuse & elle nous invitait à découvrir la culture du restaurant. À mon avis, la playlist du restaurant était très apprécié par moi. J'ai pu passer le temps avec des classiques musicales! Le petit soucis de notre soirée était le service… Notre magnifique serveuse, Liberty, semblait nouvelle & elle semblait un peu désorganisée. Or, cela nous a pas empêché d'avoir une bonne qualité de service servit par Elle! Merci encore pour cette belle soirée Liberty! Je recommande fortement ce restaurant & je le recommanderais à mes proches! On est sortis avec des ventres pleins & des chaleureux commentaires de cette place. Quelle belle soirée! 😋
Quality of food was obvious; they were delicious. we took the Meat Lovers combo for 2 person with as recommended by Acesu & it was an awesome choice for our 1st eating at Gyu-Kaku Crescent.
i'd recommend this place for the quality of food, service, & atmosphere.

Took my family there for early Easter dinner tonight to have some Japanese BBQ. This is not the first time going but the first time reviewing it.
As usual it is a very nice place to have dinner on a romantic date, a nice family dinner or just to have a get together with friends to eat. There is some noise with music coming from the ceiling & the many people eating there. The staff & service is top level. Very polite, helpful & making sure we are doing well & if there is something they can get for us.
The food there is always amazing. We ordered some soup(egg soup), had spicy shrimp, spicy roast beef & dumplings. My personal favorite is the shrimp. Then the meat. Angus beef, filet mignon, kalbi & marinated beef along with mushroom medley. The meat is always fresh. Never had any issues with the meat at all. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Super expérience ! La nourriture était fraîche, bien assaisonnée & les portions sont parfaites. Le service est professionnel & l'ambiance est vraiment agréable pour passer une belle soirée. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.
Très belle première expérience, nous avons pris le menu à 3 & les portions étaient parfaites! La qualité de la nourriture était incroyable. Je veux surtout remercier notre serveur Jia qui nous à tout expliqué de A à Z avec un sourire. Expérience fantastique avec un service magnifique! Je recommande grandement cette place!

The food was amazing & the service was excellent. The combo for four people was the perfect amount, just enough to be satisfied. We also added a bottle of excellent sake & some outstanding wagyu beef. Great experience! 100% recommand this place!

The meat is very high quality, amazing taste. Cleanliness is spot on. Service is extremely friendly & welcoming & best thing is you come & leave & no smell sticks to you. I was happy with everything we ordered l, really nothing was mediocre. Everthg was super tasty. Best quality/price combo.
I would also like to mention how happy I was with the service provided by ACESU! He was really friendly, patient, took the time to explain to us & help us choose & his recommendations were spot on. He's not like usual waiters who just recommend the most expensive thing on the menu, in contrary, he recommends what goes with ur taste & needs, always smiling, genuine hospitality! Kudos to his service

La cuisine était très bonne & très variée.
Le restaurant nous plonge dans une ambiance immersive.
Les serveurs sont extrêmement gentils. Il y a eu un petit incident de « verre renversé », rien de grave mais on nous a quand même offert nos entrées & nos boissons. Je recommande vivement & vous remercie encore!

Went for a birthday celebration for me & my friend. Not only was the food so delicious but the service is top notched. They even provided us complementary dessert for our birthdays. Ordered a bunch of appetizers, meat & even cocktails, everything was fairly priced. Would 100% recommend!
Highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure to make reservations as the chances of getting a table without one is slim. The service was amazing & the food was delicious. Definitely worth the money. Can't wait to go back.
Update 7 years later! It's still amazing! This time around we did the holiday special for 2 & it was perfect with the smores dessert! Delicious!!!!
