A famous Japanese BBQ spot in Montreal! All the online reservations were fully booked, so we decided to walk in & leave our name & phone number. They called us about 30 minutes later when our table was ready, which we really appreciated!
The atmosphere was sooo good, lots of people celebrating birthdays, having dinner with friends, or enjoying family gatherings. The food was delicious & reasonably priced, especially if you order one of the combo sets.
If you love Japanese BBQ, this is definitely a place you should try!

Increíble cena en todos los sentidos. El servicio excepcional. Ya no se ven camareros tan serviciales, que se adelanten a lo que necesites, tan atentos (sin ser pesados) y alegres (nos sorprendió porque en muchos sitios los camareros parecen agobiados). Fuimos con bebé y súper agradables. Adelantándose a abrirnos la puerta, ayudarnos a bajar el carrito…
Y la comida increíble. No pedimos combos, fuimos directamente a carta y creo que fue un acierto. Pedimos 5 carnes distintas (recomiendan 3/persona), gyozas, sushi y de postre el coulant. Todo buenísimo y disfrutamos la experiencia de hacernos la carne en la mesa, poco a poco. La comes caliente y a tu ritmo. Un 10.
Came here for a birthday dinner & it was such a good time. If you've never done Japanese BBQ before, Gyu-Kaku is a great place to start. You get your own little grill right at the table & cook the meat yourself which sounds simple but honestly makes the whole meal way more fun & interactive. The Harami skirt steak in miso marinade was incredible, easily the highlight of the night. The Kalbi short rib was great too.
The lunch combo is also insane value if you catch it, you get three meats, a salad & miso soup for around $20 which is a steal for the quality you're getting. The garlic fried rice is a must order on the side as well, really packed with flavour.
Staff were super attentive the whole time, changed out our grill without us even having to ask & actually explained the cooking times for each cut of meat which you really appreciate as a first timer. The vibe in there is really lively & fun, great spot for a group. Definitely making this a regular thing.
Go there for their lunch combo. $20 for 3 meats to grill, a salad & miso soup. Really good value for the quality of meat. The angus beef rib was the best. The other two meats I got were cut badly, with some small & broken pieces (small enough to barely fit on the grill). But for the price, it wasn't a big deal.
The service was also attentive & friendly. They checked on us throughout the meal, & changed the grill for us without prompting.
Our table also ordered the ramen & that's a skip. Not very good.
Aujourd'hui , je suis venue avec ma famille pour souper au Gyu-Kaku & c'était excellent! On était un party de 3 & on a mangé comme des rois! La cuisine était variée & très remplissant pour un combo de 130$. Le moyen de cuisson pour les aliments était très excitant. L'ambiance était très chaleureuse & elle nous invitait à découvrir la culture du restaurant. À mon avis, la playlist du restaurant était très apprécié par moi. J'ai pu passer le temps avec des classiques musicales! Le petit soucis de notre soirée était le service… Notre magnifique serveuse, Liberty, semblait nouvelle & elle semblait un peu désorganisée. Or, cela nous a pas empêché d'avoir une bonne qualité de service servit par Elle! Merci encore pour cette belle soirée Liberty! Je recommande fortement ce restaurant & je le recommanderais à mes proches! On est sortis avec des ventres pleins & des chaleureux commentaires de cette place. Quelle belle soirée! 😋
Quality of food was obvious; they were delicious. we took the Meat Lovers combo for 2 person with as recommended by Acesu & it was an awesome choice for our 1st eating at Gyu-Kaku Crescent.

One word: EXCELLENT ! We've been to Japan so our standards were high & they didn't disappoint. We had the combo for two people , everything was delicious, generous & reasonably priced. We'll be coming back for sure.
The food was amazing & the service was excellent. The combo for four people was the perfect amount, just enough to be satisfied. We also added a bottle of excellent sake & some outstanding wagyu beef. Great experience! 100% recommand this place!

The meat is very high quality, amazing taste. Cleanliness is spot on. Service is extremely friendly & welcoming & best thing is you come & leave & no smell sticks to you. I was happy with everything we ordered l, really nothing was mediocre. Everthg was super tasty. Best quality/price combo.
I would also like to mention how happy I was with the service provided by ACESU! He was really friendly, patient, took the time to explain to us & help us choose & his recommendations were spot on. He's not like usual waiters who just recommend the most expensive thing on the menu, in contrary, he recommends what goes with ur taste & needs, always smiling, genuine hospitality! Kudos to his service
