I've been wanting to try Grill Nature for a while now & it was definitely worth the wait.
The restaurant is really cute. The best way I can describe the décor is cafeteria meets sugar shack - but in a really good way. 😂 It feels casual, warm & different.
Now the food…
You CANNOT leave this place without trying the mortadella. Seriously. It is out of this world. I'm not sure I can ever buy grocery store mortadella again after this.
Then came the difficult part: choosing what else to order. The menu is way more extensive than I expected & there were so many things we wanted to try.
We went with the shrimp, beef carpaccio & burrata. Everything was fresh, simple & without too much fla-fla. The beef in the carpaccio literally melted in your mouth.
For our main, we shared a ribeye steak. It was super juicy & the flavour was amazing. My only little negative is that I personally like my steak with more of a crust, so I would have loved just a little more sear on the outside.
My vodka martini was good, & the wine they suggested was really good too. They actually have a very nice wine list.
The espresso martini though… not good. That one was a miss for me.
Overall, I'm REALLY happy to have a restaurant like this in the West Island. Great food, fun atmosphere, interesting menu & definitely somewhere I'll go back to.

Went here for a birthday dinner since we had heard great reviews about the place & given the chef being david mcmillan we figured it would be good. The service & the food was great. Our waiter was super helpful & very attentive & the food itself was also good. My biggest issue with this place stems from the price & menu makeup.

Some of prices were really just out of place; ex: 6 shrimps for $24, a green salad $20, $28 for a burger, $16 for a sundae. The biggest price issue however, was the cocktails. $18-$20 for cocktails is wild, by comparison negronis at grinder are $16. My final bill came to $200 rounded, really took away from the experience.

The menu was also a bit odd, doesnt come off as market curated & honestly the variety made it hard to choose. If you want you can get a tuna crudo, escargot, then duck confit, a chopped salad, grilled avocado, a coconut sugar pie, & maybe a rhum punch to drink lol.

Anyways, in sum good food but the price & weird selections just left us at odds.

Had a wonderful & unrushed experience here.

We had the calamari & the shrimp as appetizers, duck legs & smoked pork chop as our main. Dessert was a decadent Blueberry cobbler (which was by far & away the highlight of our meal).

Highly recommend the calamari & the duck legs & of course the blueberry cobble

Shared a great meal with my wife, daughter, & sister. The food was fantastic! My wife had the newly added fried chicken which was delicious. I had the lamb ragu lasagne. Amazing! The sides of Calamari, Steak tar tar & shrimp avocado toast was superb. Topped it off with Blueberry cobbler & soft ice cream for dessert. So good. Also got to have a great conversation with Dave McMillan. Service was great. All thanks to my daughter Elianne who organized it. Thank you

The stars of the show: Our wonderful waiter (think his name was Sam), the bread & butter (hands down crack, best bread & butter you'll ever taste), garlic honey shrimp (not greasy, very crunchy, generous sized shrimp, sweet & salty), my friend adored the warm olives & parmesan, the strawberry graham sundae we had was insanely good (crunchy fresh strawberries, sweet, beautiful presentation)
The letdowns: Our 110$ steak was overcooked & lots of fatty inedible chunks (if you like medium rare ask for rare), the fries weren't as good as everyone else made them seem (they are good but not fall of your seat wow), skip the chocolate cake (too salty & not what I expected)
For me this place was a one & done, we paid 130$ per person with tax & tip & it's way above my personal budget to come regularly but we did order a ton of items. I might come back to try some dirty martini & that wonderful bread again. I felt like some menu price points could be lower especially 16$ for a slice of cake. Overall the place was cozy, a mix of high end cuisine/service in a very relaxed & casual atmosphere. To whoever commented that they need to dim the lights, they did!!! Loved that for us.

Went on a date night we had a later seating. We were sat next to the bar. We waited 1 hour for appetizer that that we had ordered to share, we each got three shrimp. Another hour for our main course. Watched the owner come to the bar & slam down glasses of wine, super happy he got to enjoy himself. I watched the a waiter scrape butter off the table & plate it at the bread station. Way over priced, you have to pick your sides & pay for them, which when we got them, they didn't really pair well with the meal. Very loud, bright & uncomfortable seats, it seems like it's about seeing who is there rather than the quality of food & service. Save your money, unless you just want to go to show face.

My wife & I dined at this establishment this evening. The service we received was first class.
Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious.
The crispy squid was far & away the best we ever had.The only dish that fell flat was the honey & ginger shrimp. It lacked flavour & should not have exited the kitchen. The duck confit was WOW!!!! but a little more sauce on that plate as well as a more decorative presentstion would have been nice.Overall the food is absolutely delicious.I was not at all expecting to see Gateau Marjolaine on the menu & that alone made my evening.I suspect that came by way of Joe Beef. There is nothing like Gateau Marjolaine.

The Negatives:

Noise levels can become a bit distractive
Dress code is a bit confusing. Are we casual or are we Smart casual. Some patrons looked like they were at a standup tubesteak supper at Lafleur's & others looked like they belonged in a saw dust joint. This is what happens when you combine haute gamme cuisine with ball park cuisine, you suffer from identity crisis. Not sure if the 2 can work together.Only time will tell.

Would we go back? The answer is a resounding YES!!!!! The food is just toooooo goooood not to return.

Very disappointed with my main course that the waiter could have told me that it included only 6 shrimps. I then ordered also the broccolini which they were in a heavily sauce. It wasn't worth the trip & paying $350 for 3 people I would have gotten better food for that amount.
We were accompanied by another party of 3 which we definitely won't be returning.

Excellent food. Excellent service. The Milano ham appetizer is outstanding & the chocolate cake is amazing. I took the shrimp as a main meal: very tasty.
