Great patio beside & out back, many customers having drinks, socializing in groups, very relaxed atmosphere, our server was very attentive & helpful.
A couple of items worth noting:
Grenade uses a virtual menu, which means scanning a barcode with smart phone & ordering food online, which we cold not get to work properly. We spoke with the staff, & the place didn't actually have a paper copy of the menu. Bizzare. I pulled up the menu from the resto website & ordered verbally, so not really sure what is being accomplished by having this policy. I have no idea how this would work if you dont use a smart phone or you were having a technology-free evening.
The menu is small, so i would definitely categorize Grenade as a bar that serves food, not a resto/bistro, etc. They have interesting asian-inspired twists on classic items such as saumon tartare & bimbap, however if I am craving these items I will go to a restaurant that specializes in them, not a bar serving a tapas-style version.
We would definitely return for the drinks, vibes & 'snacks', now knowing what to expect.
Petite terrasse, lieu un peu vieillot mais agréable. Beaucoup de jeunes gens & menu court mais excellent. Les drinks aussi .... Belle découverte j'y retourne, c'est certain!
Menu changed completely from a few years ago when we went & really enjoyed our meals & drinks. The pad thai was ok & quite spicy but the salmon bun au sesame was served with mayonnaise & the salad only had oil on it rendering it tasteless & oily. Was disappointed in the food. Atmosphere & service were good.

Menu interessant, bouffe & drinks. Les ramen au canard sont délicieux & les sandwiches steam bun aussi. L'endroit était plein. La playlist Spotify était passable. J'ai quand même aimé mon expérience & je vais sûrement y retourner même si je n'habite pas dans le coin.
Great restaurant for groups!
Everything was good; food, music, ambiance, drinks except service was really slow & we waited almost 2.5 hours for our food.

Cool ambiance inside though it doesn't look like much from the outside. Great drinks, delicious food! We were sight-seeing from Virginia & took our teenage kids with us. Good quality. The chicken bbq buns were great as were the salads. Highly recommend!
I had seen pictures of the patio at Grenade which in all honesty was probably one of the biggest draws that led to us choosing this spot for dinner & drinks, but I really can't say enough about the food. We ordered multiple sharing plates, some appetizers & a few mains & every single dish got rave reviews. The decor on the interior of the bar (particularly when one first walks in) left a bit to be desired, so I strongly recommend going on a nice night when you're able to take advantage of their fantastic patio. Highly recommend!
Just added a new resto to my local favourites. Drinks are creative & generous. Food is fun & tasty. Service is pleasant but inconsistent. Appetizer 3/5 selections are more interesting than dinners. Prices are fair. I will be back.

We went to Grenade this summer & it was pleasant, as we sat on the terrace during a beautiful day to have a beer, & all in all it was a good experience. Because of this we decided to go back again more recently for a friends birthday to have drinks & a light meal. I called ahead to see if I could organize a birthday cake presentation, & I was open to bringing the cake myself if need be. I was told that they do not sing birthday songs flat out. Okay fine, fair enough. Upon entering the restaurant almost all the tables had reserve signs on them except one under the blaring speaker & one other table directly in front of the door (it was - 22). My feeling is that it would have been nice for them to tell me over the phone that I needed to place a reservation. Yes, I should have asked, but still, it feels somewhat disingenuous to not mention anything at all. Anyway, we took an area far away from the speaker at the bar. The service was not great either. While we were still in the process of looking at the menu with our party when the waiter came over to take my menu from my hands, & when I pointed out that would have left us with only 1 menu for 4 people he asked if we could share, I said no. In a passive aggressive jab, he came over with one more menu. At this point, the restaurant was far from busy, so it hardly should have meant scarce menus! I ordered the pad thai, edamame, & dumplings. For 15$, it was by far the worst pad thai I have ever had in my life. Terrible overcooked noodles with salty generic peanut sauce & doused in soy sauce. The edamame was equally disgusting with the peas swimming in crappy sauce & sesame seeds. Gross. He also served the beers with excess head & beer dripping down the sides of the glasses. Pretty lame for a place that supposedly prides itself on being a bar.
Score on service by phone: 1 out of 5 (not informing me of needing a reservation)
Score on food: 1 out of 5 (really bad)
Score on service: 2 out of 5
Score on atmosphere: 2 out of 5 (playing top 40 party tunes really loud at 8 at night ie. Outkast Hey Ya this needs to wait until at least 11 or 12AM, hello!)
