Gon Bui is a new Chinese resto-bar inspired by the lost temples in China. Gon Bui means 'Cheers' in Cantonese. We create our own new-Asian tapas dishes, inspired from traditional with a playful twist.
Gon Bui Restaurant Bar delivers a stylish, welcoming atmosphere with moody lighting, chic decor and a fortune tree that adds a memorable touch for any occasion. The menu blends Chinese inspired flavors with contemporary twists and offers plenty of shareable plates that are flavorful, well presented and often praised for freshness. Cocktails are inventive and varied, with many options and some standout signatures that complement the bold flavors. The service is described as friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, helping guests navigate and enjoy their meals, though a few notes about busy times mention occasional delays. The vibe is lively and social, whether brunch, night out with friends or date night, with music and a vibrant yet comfortable environment. This Laval favorite is repeatedly cited for high quality food and drinks, warm hospitality and a decor that makes it a standout spot worth returning to.
We were super excited to try this place. Honestly the service was good & the decor amazing - but we wish we could say the same about the food. It really did feel that the food was cheap & the quality was hit by the inflation. While the portion are fine, the quality or the ingredients were low in particular the meat (dumpling or noodles). Honestly we were super disappointed. I leave you judge with the pictures we're adding here can see those are the cheapest pieces of beef you can get.
Was there for Mother's day. The music was banging. I usually like my brunch sweet & salty so I ordered 2 plates to share with my sister. My half of chicken & waffles filled me up so I had difficulty finishing my French toast. Also had their version of the Amaretto sour which was like juice, loved it. Had a sip from my sister's expresso martini & fell in love. It was my first time at Gon Bui but I'll be back.
Tried their brunch & it was amazing!! They had Filipino-inspired Ube French toast that I ordered which was *chefs kiss*. The service is so good, water always topped up, greeted with a smile & they're so friendly. The place is gorgeously decorated & really appreciate the love they put into making this place such a treat to eat at. Highly recommend!
Wow wow wow wow. This place is amazing. Everything is a 10/10. The food is divine & creative. The aesthetic of the food & resto is gorgeous. Customer service is top notch. Defs coming back. Jason our server was amazing & so accommodating & fun to chat with.
Great place for a cocktail & tapas. As an Asian, i dont think is the best place for dimsum snacks, but good to have a cocktail. Went for dinner & asked for the noodles & curry rice. The hagao was not that impressive as a regular dimsum place. Definately will go back for more cocktails but no main meal. The place has good vibes & staff are friendly

Second time here & it did not disappoint. Clark was one of the nicest servers I've had in a long time. Extremely friendly & did what he could to adjust for us. As for the food, the shrimp dumplings are quite addicting! I was sad to hear about their carbonara udon being a seasonal dish, but more reason to come back here in the summer. Overall, amazing staff & great atmosphere
I really did not enjoy this place. I knew people who had been twice & they said the food was not consistent. Portions are on the small side & expensive for what you get. Our server was very nice. What pissed me off besides the lackluster food was when they brought me the machine to pay & they set it at 18% minimum tip. When you opt for another amount they state the tip in dollar amount. I should have left much less than I did. Anyway, I'm not going back here that's for sure. To give you an idea 2 adults & 1 child cost me $183 with tip. I should have gone to Chinatown instead.
