Beside that though, we really adored the atmosphere including the liveliness & the glamorous interior design. Especially the way that the ceiling is incorporated in the design, it was quite unique & lovely. The food was amazing. The flavours were adventurous & the options were also great. I especially enjoyed their salted duck egg carbonara udon that had a great creamy texture with an amazing balance of sweetness & saltiness. The other plates were also great but I wasn't a big fan of the peanut butter flavours in their beef noodles. I can see why people like it, but it was just not my thing. I really admire their concept of elevating Chinese Cuisine to a type of fine dining experience, especially while keeping the familiarity of sharing dishes. However, I still feel like the portions are way too small for the prices they charge. Each plate is around 20$ & the portions are just too small in my opinion. That is particularly true for the shrimp dumplings that are 16$ for 4 pieces. The dumplings were good, but still very expensive. The service was fantastic. Everyone was friendly, cheerful & patient. We had an amazing time but it did take some time before we got our drinks & the food also took some time before it was served.
Wooooooow, woooooooow, wooooooow. Last Night Was Amazing, despite having to wait to be seated for our reservation at 8:00pm, but I understood why because it was quite busy with a full house. Before being seated I was already enjoying the music provided by the live DJ. Once seated, the real fun was about to begin. A 4 course meal served with drinksssss. It was a limited menu (great never the less) because we were a large group for our work Holiday Party. Big shout out to Clark (our server) & his team. It was a great experience topped of with a Dragan Dance to celebrate the restaurant anniversary.
The atmosphere & service were great but the food tasted either eggy or bland. The prices are very high for such small plates. It's a shame that they changed their menu.
[Update 2024-nov] downgraded 1 star (4 to 3). The portions got smaller & the prices higher. The wait time for food was really long even though we came at 17h30. The drinks are ok. Overall, it's still ok if you want fusion cantonese food & a great ambiance for a night out with a group = dj was great. [DINNER REVIEW] Came here for dinner with friends on a Saturday night. Reservation was made easy with OpenTable online, you get a confirmation & everything : we reserved for 7pm & we were seated right away. It's still new (opened in Dec 2021), the service was excellent & the waitress that we had was courteous & informative about the menu. Speaking of which, the menu was small, only a dozen items but I expect them to add more choice as time goes on when their business grows. The food was good : the Bang Bang chicken & its sauce were excellent as well as the salted egg carbonara. If you've never had jellyfish, you should try their jellyfish & chicken dish (presented like a cold salad). Nonetheless, we thought that some dishes could be better : the fried calamari were soggy & lacking, the sauce in the longevity noodles were overly sweet & the Peking duck a bit on the pricey side (35$+tx) for 10 slices of duck. The cocktails, although pretty & Instagram-worthy, were very expensive (16$+tx). Instead, we chose their Hong Kong Milk tea & Lemon tea to quench our thirst & we were satisfied with our choices. Overall, it is a nice restaurant for outings & casual high end fusion Cantonese food. I wouldn't mind coming back here with family, with a date or with friends to spend a fun foodie evening.
Food was divine. The Hong Kong curry is delectable. However, the chicken in the burger was probably the driest I've ever encountered. Atmosphere would be waay better without a DJ blasting obnoxiously loud club music.
Original drinks, Wonton was right, Beef dumplings was fresh & the curry was tasty. Even if the service was divided between server I have nothing to say about it. Very affordable & various options ranging by portion. Overall, it was a nice discovery, I would recommend to try it, but for myself I would not go again, nothing made me go crazy.
Très bon mais beaucoup TROP chère pour la quantité dans nos assiettes.
Atmosphère is young & well decorated. - Food is low quality & mediocre lobster nuggets are borderline edible, the fryed calamari is chewy but the sauce they put makes it ok, the fryed chicken is a normal fried chicken ressemble FU LAM buffet. They added an additional taxe which is dishonest & you need to contest to have remove, so check well your bill. + Drinks are well decorated & creative Conclusion: Food isn't worth the cost since is overall bad Just go for the drinks & check your bill so they don't take advantage.
Nourriture extrêmement délicieuse à plusieurs services. Bonne ambiance & design du restaurant magnifique. Je recommande fortement.
We planned a group dinner at Gon Bui for my husband's birthday, & it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Unlike many other places, they don't require a set group menu, which gave us the flexibility to order exactly what we wanted based on our preferences & budget. Every dish was outstanding. I'm still dreaming about the shrimp dumplings, & my husband can't stop talking about the chicken burger. The cocktails were equally impressive, with flavors that perfectly complemented the meal. A special shout-out to Lucas, who handled our reservation with patience & accommodated multiple changes seamlessly. Highly recommend Gon Bui for any occasion!
Excellent food.. limited choices but great quality. Nice atmosphere as well.
Had a great time, Remi our waiter was amazing. Very mindful, very demure.
