This is a dark & sultry Japanese bar. It's perfect for a date or tryst. The cocktail menu is interesting & there's a good selection of sakes & sojus. A bar menu has a few mediocre bites. Service is cute but forgetful. Most people will love Gokudo because it seems like a hidden discovery.View more
I had a great time at this Japanese restaurant & bar. The ambiance & the vibe were really nice & relaxing. The music was not too loud & suited the mood. The food was delicious & authentic. I especially enjoyed the Sake & the Maki. The service was awesome & attentive. The staff were friendly & helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Japanese cuisine & drinks.View more
The décor is beyond gorgeous, no denying that. The food was good, although the ingredients were fresh & high quality, it felt like it was prepared without love: sushi rolls were falling apart among other things. But the real reason why I take 2 stars off this place is the sake menu. I came to Gokudo with the intention of spending a decent amount on a nice bottle, but when you advertise SAQ sake at 4x the price, how can I trust that the 120$ is worth the price? When I saw the Haiku, which is 16$ at SAQ, priced at 55$ on your menu, I just lost faith. If a restaurant is comfortable being that dishonest, I can't trust any prices or recommendations.View more
