I usually avoid hotel restaurants as I find them on average not great value. While Geso is certainly at a higher-end price point, the food quality & service lived up to it. I tried the buffala & tomatoes, as well as the filet & the lemon torte. All were excellent, & despite being an Italian restaurant, Chef Giovanni made one of the best medium rare filets I can immediately recall. A great selection of Italian reds. The restaurant manager Giancarlo made every effort to get to know us during our stay & make us feel welcome. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a solid mid-to-higher-end Italian choice in Ville-Marie.

The price for Continental breakfast $25. This is a little bit over the price other way, beautiful restaurant nice staff professional staff.

I read the reviews & thought it should be good. The food was not great, no flavour at all both my appetizer & my main. Especially at these prices, the food was like it came from some food court. On the upside the wine was good as was the service. Would not recommend, much better places to eat in Montreal.

The food, atmosphere & service was 100% Price was more than fair for drink, antipasti, an amazing ribeye & melt in your mouth beef cheeks. Everything was perfect!

My wife & I booked the "romance" package at the nearby Chateau Versailles for our anniversary, & it included a credit for GESO. Note that if you book this package you need to make a separate reservation for the restaurant but we didn't have any problems finding an available booking.

The food was all delicious. For starters, my wife had the salmon tartare & I had the mozzarella & cherry tomato. The waiter suggested a lovely wine pairing for both of these apps.

For main course, my wife had lamb chops & I had the veal chop with red wine & porcini sauce. Both were done to perfection. They had a nice balance of flavours & the meat was perfectly cooked.

We had the key lime pie for dessert which had just the right balance of sweet & sour. The restaurant gave us a little treat on the house to accompany dessert because it was our anniversary.

The service was outstanding. The waiter anticipated every request we made & had things in motion before we even asked.

GESO is definitely a restaurant for special occasions & the prices reflect this.

It was a lovely evening & we would happily do it again.
