If you want to eat 5 star smoked meat & you want to avoid the lineups at Schwartz's, this is the place to go. Forget the smoked meat chains, they serve what we refer to as cold cuts. They just warm them up before serving. This is authentic house smoked brisket. Real meat & nothing but. Maybe a touch on the dry side sometimes so get it medium. But that's their style. My mom said the pickle & coleslaw were excellent. That's coming from a Polish mom who used to make the stuff herself. I've been here a few times & they still have the same fries of which I am not a huge fan. Guys, if you change to homemade fresh fries, people will be going to Schwartz's to avoid the lineups at your place!

this is definitely the best smoked meat you'll ever taste. if you like Schwartz's style smoked meat then you'll love this, same great taste but you don't have to go downtown.

Would I dare comparing it to Schwartz? Definitely close second & no lineup! I took a party meal for 4 & the portions where generous.

Excellent Smoke meat, pas tout à fait comme Schwartz mais aussi bon. Service rapide, nourriture chaude , salade de choux & frites excellentes également. Le cornichon était assez ordinaire toutefois. Le hic, c'est l'ambiance! c'est simple il n'y en a pas, c'est assez ordinaire à l'intérieur, sombre & ennuyant, pas de service aux tables. On commande en entrant & on attend qu'il nous fasse signe. Si vous y allez pour déguster un excellent smoke meat, vous ne serez pas déçu...mais oubliez l'ambiance.

If you like Schwartz's Deli you will love george's. They're Almost identical. Medium fat sandwich is the move. Get the plate served with fries, coleslaw & a pickle. Reasonably priced for quantity & quality. 8.5/10. Edit: I reordered recently & I change my rating. Just amazing! *9.1/10*

Oh my god, have a medium fat sandwich & simply enjoy! The sandwich is filled with more meat than competition, the flavors are very very similar to Schwartz's. I couldn't have guessed blindly. The good news is that I don't have to go to Montreal anymore :) Friendly staff!

Some of the best smoked meat I've had in all my years in Montreal. I heard that old man George used to work for Schwartz's before going off on his own to open his own place… & boy does it show! Will be returning there not just for the great smoked meat but also for the incredibly fair prices.

If you are craving a classic smoked meat as similar to Schwartz, then this place is for you. Keep in mind it is more pastrami like & in doing so can feel heavier. Inside is clean but dated. I do recommend if you are craving that pastrami like smoked meat.
