The designer Jacques Gaspo from Foodtastic (behind La Belle & La Boeuf, Souvlaki Bar, Carlos & Pepe’s, Le Blossom, the new Nickels and Bacaro Pizzeria) developed Gatto Matto over a two year period. A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. We went without any reservation, but was able to get a table in about 10 minutes. We tried their breakfast lasagna, break pizza & brioche eggs Benny. Food was really good, we really enjoyed. Service & the atmosphere are good. Mistakenly we got served another option instead of lasagna we ordered, however they switched it without any trouble at all. Only downside is that they don't have many options in their brunch menue. After 4 pm they switch to their regular menu.
Due to the location, only paid parking is available. But you can find parking within walking distance easily.
The service is what truly made the whole experience really bad. We had booked a two-hour reservation but they started rushing us before we even had the chance to settle in, like our time was already up. Not even 1 hour after, the girl told us to leave in a rude tone because someone had to sit at our place immediately. That's not what a restaurant is supposed to do, its role is to make you feel welcome & allow you to fully enjoy your experience, not rush you out the door. Afterwards, we simply just went to another place to eat in a better spot. Plus, the food was pretty bland (especially the pesto pasta). Not returning here. Waste of time & money.
Excellente expérience au Gatto Matto de Laval. Nous avons pris deux entrées ( Salade César & burrata & tomates), le filet mignon & les cavatappi au boeuf effiloché ( qui mérite une mention d'honneur tellement que c'était bon). Les plats étaient d'excellentes qualités!! Le service était au rendez-vous, mais la seule petite mention était la musique beaucoup trop forte tôt en soirée ( 18h).
Great resto-bar with amazing music, delicious food, & a warm southern vibe. Perfect spot to eat, drink, & enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely coming back!
Un souper d'avant match parfait!! Réservation à 16h30 ce qui nous a donné empellement de temps pour notre souper (entrées, repas & desserts). Nourriture plus qu'excellente, portions très honnêtes dans ce monde de réduflation chronique. L'ambiante du restaurant est enivrante! Mais celui qui à fait notre soirée c'est Kelvin. WOW, un serveur de métier qui est dynamique & passionné par ce qu'il fait & ça parait, il a su nous conseiller & interagir avec nous pour nous faire vivre une expérience & non seulement un souper en famille. I can't say enough great things about Gatto Matto Laval. We were there this past Friday to celebrate my wife's birthday, & as always, it was an exceptional experience.
We come here often, about once every two weeks & there's a reason we keep coming back. The service is consistently outstanding, with plenty of attentive staff who make you feel truly taken care of. The atmosphere is perfect: lively with great background music or a DJ, yet still comfortable enough to enjoy conversation at your table.
Everything was spot on from the food to the overall vibe. It's one of those rare places that delivers every single time.
A big shout out to Shawn for always taking such great care of us-courteous, professional, & genuinely welcoming.
& one detail that really makes a difference, especially in Montreal winters: the free underground parking. It makes the whole experience that much more convenient, no matter the weather.

Très beau restaurant, service rapide & impeccable. Le tataki de thon était excellent, par contre les pâtes pesto étaient pas très bonne. Trop sallé, trop crémeuse...je ne les ai pas fini. La pizza était OK.
