Review Summary

Gâteau Brise is praised for a wide variety of brioches, pastries and cakes, made with fresh ingredients and offered at good value, and the durian cake is repeatedly highlighted for its generous durian flesh, balanced sweetness and soft texture. The shop is described as a cozy, small, express format that is convenient to visit, with a note that a larger store with more choices exists in Brossard. Service is sometimes described as reserved or transactional, but staff are also noted as helpful and friendly and there are compliments about thoughtful packaging and freebies with birthday cakes. Reviewers also mention preordering options, affordable prices, and a nostalgic feel that brings back childhood memories, while some critique fruit decorations not staying fresh as long and the interior decoration being a work in progress. Overall, Gâteau Brise comes across as a reliable, affordable go-to bakery with a strong emphasis on durian and fruit cakes and a loyal following.

Very good Chinese pastries with a creative twist. As others have said, this bakery is a hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit!

Good pastries & cake with affordable prices!

Cakes & pastries used to be a real treat because the price was Really good while the quality is decent. But lately, price has gone up even for cakes & pastries that are 1 day old. We used to be able to find a mango cake one or two days old for $10 to 15 for 4 to 6 people. Now the cakes have shrunk & the bread, food & pastries from 1 day old or before have less discounts.

Other than that, I like coming here. We have gotten good matcha cake here in the past 😃

I got to say though that the cakes you can preorder for your friend or family's birthday can go easily up to 50$ or more. But the cakes usually are pretty good. (I give at least 70% regardless no matter which cake)… price is for sure more than chinatown & more than T&T, by 15-25 dollars, but you can usually taste the difference.

real hidden gem! my go-to bakery for affordable yummy fruit cakes

their pastries are perfectly priced & look amazing! plus, the staff is very kind & love to include freebies if you buy a birthday cake, they wrap it in a nice box & give utensils, a knife & some cake decorations for no extra cost!

they give point cards with coupons & i've already gone through 2 of them, i would recommend this to everyone i meet
