I'm an American (& Texan) ordering a hamburger in Canada. So my standards are high! This place is known for their burgers, & I ordered what the waiter recommended. It was a good hamburger. Definitely the best I've had in Canada. I kind of wish I had tried something else though. The menu had impressive range & many of the other orders coming out looked delicious.
My server was helpful & friendly & spoke good English. & the atmosphere was great. Definitely my kind of place. Very casual but also kind of high-end. What I would call a'$50 T-shirt' kind of place, if you know what I mean.View more

Ce n'est pas la première fois que j'y vais. Tout est toujours succulent, que ce soit la pizza, les burgers ou les pâtes. Cette fois j'ai pris des linguines alfredo. Victime de leur succès? Ou tout simplement mauvais? Plus d'une heure d'attente pour 2 burgers qui étaient pas mauvais mais rien de wow non plus. Présentation de l'assiette zéro, saveurs pas vraiment au rendez-vous, qualité des aliments ok. On apprécie un resto avec un menu aussi varié (pâtes, pizza, burgers, grillades, poisson fruits de mer, + une table d'hôte) mais on se fait dire qu'ils ne sont que deux en cuisine pour tout faire. C'est le problème du client parce que...? Au moins ca n'a pas couté cher.View more

In the spirit of fair play & out of respect to the restaurants who survived Quebec's draconian lock-down measures during covid, I've decided never to smack talk a resto without looking at the big picture first. There's plenty to like about Bistro Garage: a tall frosty glass of Peroni on the hottest day of the year was just what I needed, & was served promptly by an efficient bartender. This is the type of place where locals go, & sitting at the bar it's easy to see why, The staff is friendly & seem to know many of the customers, at least on the day I was there, & good vibes where in abundance. I only wish the burger I ordered was as generous as the kind service & smiling locals. Sadly, paltry portions served on a lackluster plate seems to be the norm in "la belle province". I really don't understand it. Montreal is a place that has been re-birthed from its humble roots of hot dogs, poutines, tourtières & pâté chinois, into a centre de la gastronomie widely acknowledged for some truly stellar dining experiences. Now, clearly this is not a Michelin dining experience nor is it trying to be, but you would think .. & hope! ... there would be more pride in what's served at the le garage & other slightly bobo yet still accessible establishments like it. A small-ish burger served with a scant handful of of previously frozen shoe-string fries thrown on the plate doesn't inspire much, & certainly doesn't live up to the great decor & overall jovial ambiance of the place. Jeez, even a sprig of parsley would be an improvement over the bone dry offering that left me feeling sad & depressed & yes, hungry! I was quickly snapped out of my pit of gloom by a bagpipe group parading down Wellington & all was good in the world again. I'll be back, but next time I'll skip the burger.View more

Got a burger & some fries. Burger was mid at best, fries & mayo were really nice. Paid 24$ for that which is a bit much tbh. 6/10 experience.View more

Service très courtois bien accueilli Mais les burgers ... a 16.50$- tres mediocre ! Portion tres petite pour le prix ! payer ce prix pour un burger .. on s'attend a que sa soit TOP mais en fin .. jai attendu 40 min au final pour des burgers .. 2024: the hybride burger was tasteless without the honey mustard sauce. The lychee martini & espresso martini were delicious. Seasonal limoncello spritz was nice & not overly sweet. Nice terrasse. Asked for something to make the table less wobbly but nothing was done. 2022: had the garage burger & it was perfect. The layers of smoked ham, mushrooms, & hot peppers worked surprisingly well! Staff were very accommodating. Long Island Ice Tea & Lily were refreshing. Earlier: Just went here for wine & appetizers & both were great. Fun spot & conveniently open late on weekdays. This is a cute neighbourhood restaurant & staff is very kind. The burger with mushrooms was good but the 1/3 of a salad leaf that was added was a sad attempt. The nachos were well covered by cheese but lacking in nachos. The smaller portion was more like a kids portion. The cesar was good but again not enough for a meal. Its still a great spot but inflation has clearly affected the portions. Prices are very affordableView more

Mon restaurant favori pour le rapport qualité-prix. Le menu très varié peut satisfaire tous les goûts que ça soit pour le filet mignon, les poissons frais, les moules en passant par les pâtes & les burgers, pizzas & frites. Tout est absolument délicieux. J'adore leur concept de menu table d'hôte très abordable avec des créations nouvelles à chaque semaine. Le prix est parmi les plus raisonnable en ville & il inclu un choix de salade ou soupe maison ainsi que le dessert & un café savoureux. The menu is deceptively basic tonread, but the dishes are much better than you'd expect. The seasoning is spot on for everything we've tried there over the years. Very nice reasonably priced table d'hôtes, & a crowd pleasing array of burger, pasta, pizza & grill items, seafood too. It's on our short list of places to go when no one has any particular idea what they want.View more

the service & staff were welcoming & very helpful. it did take time for our server to check on our table but they were great nonetheless. the drinks & the apps were delicious, but we were less impressed with the main meals (2 burger orders); they skimped on the toppings, despite having ordered extras too.
all in all though, it was a good experience! i wouldn't definitely consider going back but maybe trying something else off the menu. thank you again!

What a beautiful day to spend on a terrace having lunch with friends. With a menu to satisfy all, this quaint local restaurant can please all.
We had burgers & pasta.
We ordered the Automatic burger, one with fried & one with salad (an extra charge was applied). The fries we crispy but not hot enough. While the burger was very good. Perfectly cooked & served on a toasted bun. What I really liked was that the lettuce, tomato & onions were served on the side. Therefore, they were not hot & soggy when it arrived at the table. According to my friend, the salad was delicious.
The Bolognese pasta was a nice size portion loaded with beef & pieces of tomato.
Service was very attentive, & we were given lots of time to chat even if it was rather busy.View more

Un de mes restaurants prefere a verdun pour sa convivialité a des prix raisonables , jadore le menu simple & efficace avec de petite specialité. pas de fausse joie , un bon burger & un gros tas de frite comme on les aimes averc une petite mayo. Efficace & terrasse l ete rend l endroit agreable en toute saison . essayer cest adopter pour sa formule de quartie
