Première expérience pour ma part à ce petit resto de quartier pour un souper entre collègues de travail. On était sur la'terrasse' en hiver. Lieu chauffé. Excellent service. J'ai commandé un burger sur la table d'hôte. Très bon prix pour une table d'hôte. Le burger était excellent (de la vrai viande fraiche), & que dire des frites! Mon genre de frites (minces & croustillantes à la McDo). Mon seul commentaire négatif était que la musique était très forte & donc, les gens parlaient fort. Je n'arrivais pas à entendre ma collègue assise 2 sièges plus loin. Le stationnement peut être difficile à trouver autour.

I'm an American (& Texan) ordering a hamburger in Canada. So my standards are high! This place is known for their burgers, & I ordered what the waiter recommended. It was a good hamburger. Definitely the best I've had in Canada. I kind of wish I had tried something else though. The menu had impressive range & many of the other orders coming out looked delicious.

My server was helpful & friendly & spoke good English. & the atmosphere was great. Definitely my kind of place. Very casual but also kind of high-end. What I would call a'$50 T-shirt' kind of place, if you know what I mean.

Ce n'est pas la première fois que j'y vais. Tout est toujours succulent, que ce soit la pizza, les burgers ou les pâtes. Cette fois j'ai pris des linguines alfredo. J'ai déjà dit autour de moi comment la sauce est vraiment bonne. J'ai déjà emmené avec moi plusieurs personnes & tout le monde ont apprécié leur repas.

Victime de leur succès? Ou tout simplement mauvais? Plus d'une heure d'attente pour 2 burgers qui étaient pas mauvais mais rien de wow non plus. Présentation de l'assiette zéro, saveurs pas vraiment au rendez-vous, qualité des aliments ok. On apprécie un resto avec un menu aussi varié (pâtes, pizza, burgers, grillades, poisson fruits de mer, + une table d'hôte) mais on se fait dire qu'ils ne sont que deux en cuisine pour tout faire. C'est le problème du client parce que...? Au moins ca n'a pas couté cher.

Shui allez deux fois les deux fois était correct rien de plus mais sinon le brushetas sont très bonne le burger est bon mais il n'y a pas de sauce a l'intérieur donc un peu sec

In the spirit of fair play & out of respect to the restaurants who survived Quebec's draconian lock-down measures during covid, I've decided never to smack talk a resto without looking at the big picture first. There's plenty to like about Bistro Garage: a tall frosty glass of Peroni on the hottest day of the year was just what I needed, & was served promptly by an efficient bartender. This is the type of place where locals go, & sitting at the bar it's easy to see why, The staff is friendly & seem to know many of the customers, at least on the day I was there, & good vibes where in abundance. I only wish the burger I ordered was as generous as the kind service & smiling locals. Sadly, paltry portions served on a lackluster plate seems to be the norm in "la belle province". I really don't understand it. Montreal is a place that has been re-birthed from its humble roots of hot dogs, poutines, tourtières & pâté chinois, into a centre de la gastronomie widely acknowledged for some truly stellar dining experiences. Now, clearly this is not a Michelin dining experience nor is it trying to be, but you would think .. & hope! ... there would be more pride in what's served at the le garage & other slightly bobo yet still accessible establishments like it. A small-ish burger served with a scant handful of of previously frozen shoe-string fries thrown on the plate doesn't inspire much, & certainly doesn't live up to the great decor & overall jovial ambiance of the place. Jeez, even a sprig of parsley would be an improvement over the bone dry offering that left me feeling sad & depressed & yes, hungry! I was quickly snapped out of my pit of gloom by a bagpipe group parading down Wellington & all was good in the world again. I'll be back, but next time I'll skip the burger.
